News tonight that the board vetoed wenger and sold nasri when he wanted to keep him

Makes sense when you remember his you can't call yourself a big club if you see cesc and nasri, comment

I wish wenger would just come out and tell us what's going on and stop been so loyal

we'll have to wait for his auto-biography for that

That is the impression one gets for some time. He is doing the job but in a muted fashion, no passion, no fire and it shows. The politics of the boardroom have trickled on to the playing field and the whole attitude of the squad. There are probably a lot of people not talking to each other at Arsenal.

The board were right though. Selling Nasri was the right decision, the money on offer for him was stupid considering he'd only one year left on his deal. And although he'd come off the back of a good season he was far from a world beater. If Cazorla had come in as soon as Nasri left as was the original intention I don't think anybody would have complained.

Selling van Persie now was a completely different story.

I know we were never going to hold onto Fabregas but it would have been nice to hold onto Nasri, bring in Cazorla and maybe have a better chance of keeping RVP (doubt we ever could have though).
Just frustrating knowing we could potentially have a world class team right now if a few players, and the board had more faith in each other to do the business.

So Podolski, Walcott and Sagna out for the weekend, which is a pity.

Will Rosicky get a start? I think he has too really, at the expense of the Ox or Gervinho on the wings? Santi filling in there probably.

He needs to start imo. We need leaders right now and as Arseblog pointed out we are lacking in that department. He gives us a sense of urgency in the final third about our play so having him on can only be a good thing. Besides Pod and Walcott were muck last weekend they don't deserve a spot on the team at the minute after their performances.

Rosicky should start, but not on the wing. Should put Cazorla on the wing and take out Gerv.
Because that man definitely shouldn't be near the first team.

Well looks like I was right, we DID need another striker and Diaby cant play for two months before getting injured. Laughable that so many people had so much faith in him.
Up **** creak now. Hard to see Wenger pulling this one out of the fire.

Where do we go from here??
Arsenal are like my mood swings- pretty fcuking volatile and dramatic.
I dont care who we get in the next round of the UCL, nearly prefer it to be a really top side (top top?) than been beaten by a useless one.

The league, oi vey! When is Diaby back????

hell no!! cazorla should be pushed further up the field just in behind the striker coz he is the only one who has that eye to pick that killer pass and open things up having him coming back nearly on artetas' lip to get the ball is no use he does all the damage in the final third

    Chesney

    Jenkinson Mert Verm Gibbs

    Arteta Cazorla Wilshere

    Rosicky Giroud Chamberlain

    Thats how I'd line out.

Im liking Rosicky's all out action style of play.

More of him is what we need. Though minus the injurys would be nice

I dont think these 3 in midfield work. Id rather stick Rosicky in there and put Cazorla out wide. Just for a change.

Cazorla is far more creative than Rosicky though. Just behind the front man is his best position.

    Chesney

    ---Jenkinson Mert Verm Gibbs

    ----Coquelin
    Wilshere

    ---Cazorla----Rosicky----Chamberlain

    Giroud

    never gonna happen though

Maybe but something needs to be done. Everton strolled through that midfield. They are all too similar. Rosicky would give us a little burst of energy in there i think.

That would be interesting to try out. Might give the defense a bit of protection too

Have to agree, Rosicky can burst by a few and then feed Cazorla further up the field, that's the thinking anyways.

Wenger confident in Sagna signing an extension, which is good news.

Less so on Walcott, its chit or get off the pot time for Theo now, really just cant see him staying.

Podolski and Walcott both out for tomorrow. Possibly Sagna too!

AND how do you come to that conclusion? Hope it's not by looking at his history.

He is not been a bit coy in his interviews like he usually his
Think we will sign a nice few players hopefully he still has an eye for a player

The more I think about it, I think he should just go for two wingers and another midfield body, somebody with more defensive leanings like Biglia perhaps. That way the lack of striker depth solves itself - Giroud and Podolski become the defacto front men.

You also get the benefit of rotating between Wilshere/Cazorla/Arteta and keeping them fresh with the addition of the new midfielder. Further, you get the best out of Arteta doing this too.

I'd probably look to get in a more experienced back up to Sczcsney too.

But yeah, we need a minimum of 3 new players in January I think, and hopefully getting rid of Chamakh, Arshavin and Squillaci will free up some of the wage bill as they're all surely on > 50k/wk. The Diaby experiment is finished too imo, the guy is a walking sports injury hospital.

Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Arteta, Wilshere, Cazorla, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gervinho, Giroud.
Arsenal subs: Martinez, Jenkinson, Squillaci, Coquelin, Ramsey, Rosicky, Podolski.
