If you're in that early you should go up to the top floor and get the round tables at the back end of the library...it's a HUGE table and is hidden away from everyone. The window switches are right behind the desk plus you can get away with a little whisper because it's so far away from where everyone else sits. I used to LOVE that spot for exams and project work with friends.

Cool, I'll check that out the next time, surprised I haven't seen it before since I'm always up there!:) Thank you for your knowledge! :D

I meant to say it on numerous occasions yesterday but,
Did I miss something in the budget that might be an indicator as to why the bus prices have jumped again??
Wonder if it'll result in them being more punctual,
Not a great start yesterday if that was their intentions...

They've jumped up in Dublin so I assume Limerick are following suit like last time. I imagine Limerick is still cheaper to travel in though (average bus trip in Dublin is like 2.40 now)

The cleaning ladies last night were hoovering around some poor girl last night at half 1 in the library when I was leaving.
I think they might be a bit bitter about these extra 3 hours.

Docked 5% for handing in assignment 5 minutes late :/
Justified on their part but a little harsh given it was the first one we'd handed in via "turnitin" and was going in circles for a bit...

Would've been my highest if it hadn't been docked..
Disappointed more than pissed off :/

The amount of people from Mary I in the library is a joke. How dare they take seats from honest hard working U.L students. They should be checking for student cards on the way in

Mary I students are allowed to use the library AFAIK so checking the ID cards wouldnt help much

They're allowed use our facilities afaik, but fúck 'em anyway taking our spaces! :D Surely they have their own library? I haven't been over there since I was about 10 years old! :p

Would've welcomed that walking in this morning...
Blinded by the frost when I left my house,
Every step I took expected the worst,
Every pair of shoes I own have relatively flat soles,
Making me EXTREMELY prone to slipping :/

I handed mine in 3 hours late last week and I apologised and he said he dosent care if it's late.

    Sociology essay,
    Handed up via "turnitin"
    10.05, deadline 10.00 :/

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,407 ✭✭✭lkionm

In that case bitches be loco.

Still a bit harsh to dock marks. they should give you a little bit of time after the deadline but not tell you. Anything could happen in the time it would take you to get to a computer especially if you might not have internet at home or something like that and had to travel to UL.

Did you email her with a sob story?

Honestly thought I got away with it so didn't bother,
Wasn't until I looked at the feedback that she said you actually got x% but you're being docked 5% to y%
    Then just carried on...

She actually said she'd be in the library 9-10 for those who might struggle handing them in on time..
Don't have a leg to stand on really,
I was working right up until the last second as well so on my part it'd be difficult to avoid...

I'll just cut next one short and guarantee 5% :P

Been in the library since 8am, and there has been 3 seats around me empty now the past 3 hours!!!! 3 lads, came in, dumped their stuff and have been gone since?! So many people have been round looking for seats and theirs isn't being used!

    Grrrr ! Such a joke!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,407 ✭✭✭lkionm

Thats why I always stay at home and do study and stroll in, in the evening.

Less stragglers, annoying people talking, and a row of girls laughing.

I was also in at 8am. Had to leave around half 9 to meet someone so I took my stuff with me, not a chance of a seat when I got back half an hour later so I'm studying in the Main Building instead. Terrible to say it but it's far less noisy than the library.

Incredibly rude for people to try to "reserve" seats like that. In other Universities their stuff would be moved after half an hour by library staff. The amount of people having full blown conversations in the "silent area" is a joke.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,225 ✭✭✭snausages

I take it though there shouldn't be a problem if someone where to just remove the bags and stuff and take the seat anyway? I've seen people do it before where it was obvious that a seat was being reserved and not just left for a few minutes. It's not like they can complain either, it's their own fault.

Is it worth heading to the library in the evening or will it still be packed?
