Just buy one of those plastic slide binders from the bookstore or better still just staple the pages together.

Print room, €3. Have everything printed before hand though.

The Lodge. I shall say no more other than you do see somethings...

Also, why did I have to pick the computer in the library with the faulty mouse :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,277 ✭✭✭Chris Martin

Why have a mouse pad when there's no grip on the bottom of it!
Just sliding the mouse and mousepad around my desk,
And the mouse doesn't work on the desk alone :/
    Venus Computer Labs,
First time I've been this year,
    Perhaps reasoning behind it..

Do the mice have advertising on them? For First 7 weeks or whatever?

If so the lab probably got them for free from whoever is using them to advertise. They have no grip on the bottom because they're super cheap bulk bought promo items.

Strange that they don't work on the desk though; I haven't used a mousepad in years.

A4 pads or notebooks usually make decent makeshift mousemats.

Though it is weird that the mouse won't work on the desk... The only time I use a mouse mat these days is when I'm at home where I have one with a padded rest for my wrist.

They are the cheap sh!tty 7 week ones,
It's not that it didn't work it was just very jolty,
Bottom of the mouse had collected some dirt and stuff,
Slid easily over desk but not so much so on screen..
Wasn't doing anything vital though so I'm alright,
Would've whipped out book for that :P

Had a 100% essay to hand this morning for 12....Went to print it off in the Venus labs (middle section) at 11.20, of course 11/17 pages (in colour by the way) got jammed in the printer....Was there a STD person anywhere to be seen, not atall!!
Went into the next section... went to print it off, forgot that it automatically set to 'print on both sides'.... disaster....
Finally got everything printed off at 11.45 but still managed to spend nearly €5 on wasted paper.... RANT OVER!

I think your looking for someone from ITD not STD. If you were looking for someone with a STD try the lodge and wear gloves

Found desk in library about 5.15ish today,
    Delighted,
Desk next to me contained sheets, books, jumper and a laptop.
About 5 minutes ago she returned,
Packed away all her stuff and left...
Now although this hasn't directly affected me today,
I wonder how many people use the library just to hold their stuff to collect later...
Utter disregard for everyone else trying to find a seat in the library,
And there's plenty of people looking for them...

The fact that she packed up and took off when she returned was the worst part for me,
I'd slowly get over her absence of at least an hour, if she sat down and used the seat, but she was using it solely to hold her stuff...

In fairness I have seen notices left on desks telling the "occupant" that their stuff has been moved to the security office or will be if they're not back in ten mins, just nowhere near often enough. Then again security has no real way of kn owing how long a seat has been left chronically vacant

i was in their today at 8, person put down their laptop on the desk and left for two hours, came back for an hour and left again, still gone when i left at about 2. at least 10 people came looking in that area for a seat at that time:mad:

from now on im emailing the library in cases like this, not fair anymore.

Just put the laptop in a bag and move it and they wont do it again.
I cant understand why they leave their laptop just sitting there when I could easily walk out with it, as well as being around about 100 or so people.

Does snap open on Saturdays? Or any other place nearby that does binding?

Close them yourself, just walk over and push the buttons. There's no problem with the UL library really. You just need to be braisin in there - most people won't really care if they're open are closed - or if they do, they won't say it or do anything about it. :)

Be brazen? So the girl next to me wouldn't mind if I pulled out my lad?

Whatever floats your boat. Dunno why you're taking up space in the library if all you're thinking about is whipping your lad out. Go home.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,060 ✭✭✭Jikashi

Took a desk that I saw a girl packing up and leaving from, but before I sat down I had to clear away from the desk and the shelf thing above it: two nutrigrain wrappers, a sandwich box, two cans of energy drink, a crisp packet, a half-full coffee cup, and crumbs on the desk and chair. If you wanna have a bloody picnic in the library that's annoying enough, but clean up after yourself ffs. The bin was even against the opposite desk.

I was scared!:pac: They tried to close a window further down later on but couldn't seem to find the switch for it. Wonder had they been open all night, because I went in a 8!

If you're in that early you should go up to the top floor and get the round tables at the back end of the library...it's a HUGE table and is hidden away from everyone. The window switches are right behind the desk plus you can get away with a little whisper because it's so far away from where everyone else sits. I used to LOVE that spot for exams and project work with friends.
