Good news, my 660ti looks like itll perform well. Is it a 'way its meant to be played' title? A 2gb 680 watches the frame rate of the 3gb equivalent ATI card.

Ironically it is a Team Red sponsored game :)

I know DCully is making everybody jealous with the FPS he is getting with his 660Ti

Steam finally implemented their built in 'choose destination drive to install to'.

One really annoying thing about it though:

When you're installing, you get the option to install to the existing drive, or create a new Steam directory on X, Y, Z drives. Once you create a directory however you can't create a second one on the same drive. You have to launch Steam in developer mode and manually add the path. Also, not every game has this option, so if you put Steam on a small SSD, you might run into a problem space-wise if one too many games want to live there.

Noticed that myself, only had the problem with them not installing with older games though (Race 07/L4D2)

Ive had it running for ages?? Weird thing is it doesnt work with some valve titles like l4d, theres no drop down whatsoever, has this been changed? Would be great to have this working on all titles. Its nothing to do with the age of the title, I got some very old titles that have the drop down. Really want the option for the l4d's!

Wonder what the temps are like though. Deus Ex is an ATI title and produces the highest temps on my 660ti by about 20○, running at 72○.

    Hi guys,

Didnt want to post on the bargain thread with the no chat rule.

I have a thread here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=82101049#post82101049 where I am worried about the reliability of my OCZ SSD and using it to mount Windows. I'm more comfortable with the Crucial M4 I already have, so I'm on the lookout for any bargains for it , last one I bought was like 30% off :)

Its annoying all right, hope it gets fixed. There seems to be no explanation as to what lets some games install and not others.

l4d is not isolated to a single folder Source files are shared between all source games that could be the problem

    fan extension cable

Happened me before too. I bought a 8 pin PCI extension from Amazon along with a few other small bits and the cable must have slipped out during shipping or something.

It's a pain, but you can very easily get another one sent out. If you follow the RMA procedure for your order you can say that some parts were missing and you will have a new one within a few days.

Tbf to amazon iv over ordered over a hundred stuff off them and its the first time this ever happened. They're still the best online retailer.

Specialtech have good customer care but I'd have to think twice about ordering from them again. OC is over priced and littlewoods are awful

Looks good for a low profile cooler.

Not sure on the best place to buy it. May be a bit expensive too.
    Thanks guys,
Im only getting to check this thread now. Great suggestion with the big shuriken cooler. I wont get home to check if it fits into the case I got (chieftec bt-02b). As you can see from the image there is a not so friendly barrier in the way and I cant get any measurements online:rolleyes:

I currently got a i3-2105 stock cooler and im not 100% sure of its height either but I know there is not too much headroom. I want the shuriken though:D

This actually seems like a great idea - especially towards people who are new to PC gaming. I tried it out myself and its pretty nifty
