Later that day, she taught the children all about God - probably.

Yeah, life for kids is tough enough without adults spinning them bullsh!t fabrications like Santa and religion and so forth.

Fair play to her I say. She got balls, and I like balls!

They should tell them god isn't really and leave santa alone.

Yeah. You don't see many wars started in the name of Santa. I guess tabloid wars are pretty much the only ones.

also if your bold santa leaves you coal....he doesnt damn your soul to eternal hell fire. Much nicer option IMO

obviously, but im not going to be the one to tell little suzie and billie that the nice man that gives them lovely pressies is a fake and life sucks and enjoy life now cause in a few years it will all be bills and soggy cornflakes until you DIE. sometimes its ok to have a little fantasy in life.

You think she was right to tell five year olds that Santa wasn't real?

I would sue her for hurt and pain caused to a minor. Then buy lots of toys out of it and say see there is a Santa...

Parents should tell the kids that Santa is real, he just never left presents for their teacher cos she's a c*nt.

As a parent of a 5 yr old, I know how much trust they place in what their teacher tells them.
I also know how much excitement they get out of the whole Christmas/Santa thing.
Seems a very nasty and petty thing to do.

Sounds a bit over the top though.

If anything she should have just said that she didn't believe in Santa.

I don't think it is useful or valuable to tell kids about Santa anyway. But that's another thing to discuss and it should be left to the autonomy of parents.

Can you tell me who give her the right to say it. From what you are saying is this "lie" will ruin peoples lifes for ffs get real with yourself its a bit of magic for kids for christmas and NOBODY should has the right except the parents with matters like this.

Its a lie and will scar people for life. I think he had said something like that in a thread once and would not forgive his parents for that lie and the one on religon. Everyone should think like him

Edit not what I think. Christmas is better to see the magic in childrens eyes at christmas

So you'd have your kids not believe in Santa and in turn they'd tell other kids and wreck their Christmas?

Of course she was right to do it.

If kids were led to believe something and the bubble burst of course they will be hurt. If they were never spoon fed the santa crap in the first place and simply told that family and people who love them give them presents for the new year would that not fulfil the same function and very importantly not be a complete lie.

I also disagree with the religious aspect of "christmas". I think the state should abandon the christamas festival and instead just introduce a "winter festival" with higlight being the winter solstice which is when the new year really starts from a cosmological perspective.

Its the magic of christmas let people have it we need it. I can tell you if someone told my nieces and nephews at 5 I would not be a happy camper (except the parents its there porogrative)

Edit: though it seems people are told earlier and earlier now
