W used to be added without asking. Don't think it changed.

W is automatically added. Any other category will require you to do a test.

Oddly enough, when I passed test in 2005 category E+B was erroneously added. Didn't complain. I did ring Shannon that day enquiring about trailer weight limits on my soon to arrive licence. Whether a coincidence or worth a try I couldn't say.
