Just noticed on the last page of the quick start guide the transferred data from wii to wii u cannot be transferred back. Just something to be aware of.

Can you transfer online multiplayer profiles (MW3 for example) from Wii to WiiU?

my update keeps stopping and starting. Infuriating. 120mbit and been at it for an hour and a half. It's up to the D in Data.

Oh, the fix to connect to yout thompson, or any router you're having issues with is to set an ip yourself.
    The dns is borked.
Set your ip to something in your network's rainge, usualy 192.168.0.10 or something, get the range from your pc, and subnet and gateway.
You'll need to set up dns too so use google's or someone else's, 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 i used, which i think is googles.

I'd say being the launch day in the UK too, the servers are getting hammered.

Can you transfer online multiplayer profiles (MW3 for example) from Wii to WiiU?

Does that count as save data for wii software?

    According to manual:

Transferrable data includes save data for wii software, wiiware and save data, vc titles and save data, and, add-on content for software. Also wii points, wii shop channel account activity and mii characters.

"You cannot select individual items to transfer, nor can you transfer any other kinds of data, such as save data for gamecube software"

    Hope that helps.

Guys picked up my Wii U having trouble with trying to connect to UPC router. It picks up the signal but when I enter in password to connect it fails. Password is correct. If anyone has any ideas let me know please thanks.

Yeah had the same problem why do nintendo make it so difficult so many people having this issue anyway here is the fix I am downloading update now taking ages though on a 50mb connection
Ok so far heres what works, entering in everything manually.

    1. Go into connection types, Hit "Manual Configuration"

    2. Input your SSID

    3. Input the correct security type, this is key.

    4. Put your password in properly

    5. For ip address "Do not auto obtain".

    6. open up cmd in your computer, type in ipconfig

    7. Now input that ip address but add 10 to the last number so "192.168.0.1" will be entered as "192.168.0.11"

    8. Enter the rest of your info inside such as subnet mask and default gateway exactly as you see it in your ipconfig.

    9. Now hit next, hit configure now for your DNS. When asked about DNS hit "Dont auto obtain".

    10. For the first server put in 8.8.8.8

    11. For the second server put in 8.8.4.4

    12. Hit Next, when asked about a proxy hit no proxy

    13. Leave mtu as the default

    14. it should work, if not check the ip and that it is the internet ip + 10. Good luck

Also, hats off to HMV. They honoured the original pre-order price absolutely quibble free. I'd be inclined to shop there now for games etc, fair dues.

Have to agree 0 trouble and got an extra fiver off without asking as there was an instore promotion. Hmv well done!

Just a heads up to anyone buying Batman, it's €49.99 in Smyths as opposed to €59.99 in HMV. Just picked it up there in Smyths Cork even though they didnt have it out on display, asked at the counter and got it.

Change the end of your ip to .011 (instead of the 1 or .001 as wiiu shows it) it will work

Tried that and it says device on network already using same IP address.
Here are the settings I have:

    Security: WPA-PSK-(AES)
    IP Address: 192.168.001.011
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.254.000
    Gateway: 079.097.108.001

    Primary DNS: 008.008.008.008
    Secondary DNS: 008.008.004.004

Am I missing something? Really frustrated now :(

Your subnet mask is wrong, your gateway looks weird too.

    Should maybe be:

    IP address: 192.168.001.011
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.001.001

    Dns should autoconfigure

Overheard an interesting conversation in Gamestop this morning when i went in to pick up Far Cry 3 (which I ended up buying elsewhere as they're charging 60 sheets for it - erm, just 'no' Gamestop); if you brick your machine by interrupting the update then they're not going to replace it and it's your tough tomatoes.

Why does anyone shop with these goons any more? :(

I'd like to see them prove to a judge in the smalls claim court that it was the customers fault. Idiotic
