Hey guys, I was just wondering if anybody knows any information on the following:

Basically, I have a 32gb 3gs which is a bit rattled, will cost 80 or so to fix. I only want to fix it if I can update the software, as otherwise being stuck on ios 4.1 is not much good to me, would probably be time to upgrade!

I was wondering If I update the software to 6.0 or 6.1 (whatever the latest is) and the phone reverts back to its original lock (its an 02 phone) will I be able to bypass the lock using a gevey sim, and then use the phone on meteor complete with updated software??

    Thanks in advance!

You have to update and preserve the base band using a modified ipsw file
