Ditch the launcher and use blackhat instead!

I'm only a couple of hours away from Prestiging now, reckon my first token will go on blackhat probably (or the Scar H, finally a gun that's clicked for me!). I can't see Ghost making much a difference for me so will leave it this time.

One thing, if you prestige do you lose your gun prestiges? I've prestiged the MTAR, pretty lousy if me doing a full prestige sets that back to square one.

the launchers are pointless once you unlock the black hat, best addition to cod in yeeears, no more care packages being nabbed or landing on roofs, I actually throw them to places I know people cant reach them now on purpose

Guns stay prestiged, I think you have to unlock them again but once you do all the attachments you had from the previous prestige are there... I think :pac:

What kinda distance do ya get on the black hat, when going for a care package? I had 2 CPs robbed last night so gonna use black hat tonight

You need to be in line of site and maybe anywhere under ten feet or so away if not a little further. If they're out of bounds or stuck on a roof then the reach seems to be better. It's pretty handy to have when your team mates keep landing their CPs where they can't reach them I have to say

Nicking enemy ones very satisfying too, and the booby trap won't be spotted a mile away like the one in MW3

Eh....it rings some bell in the back of my head from a previous but in this context I've no idea. Like I said I don't pay that much attention I just boot up and fight. The only perks I really use are the speed related ones - lightweight, fast hands stuff - my runner class has no bombs only one gun and 6 perks all aimed at speed and endurance - works quite well. After that I stopped paying attention.

Use the Black hat while running Engineer. The laughs I had earlier spotting bouncing bettys and shock charges through walls. You can hack them through the wall if close enough. Then the camper will end up getting killed by his own bouncing betty. Did that on Stand off in the middle camping room upstairs. I was outside just chilling/hacking. Great buzz.

I mean from COD in general, you said you played previous titles so just expected you knew what it was. It was in BLOPs1 as ghost and MW3 as assassin dunno what it was in MW2

Cold Blooded - it was Assassin and Blind Eye put together (minus the countering the C-UAV/EMP).

Can confirm MW3 I managed to score on average 9/9 but on BO2 I'm getting 15/6! The game does lag now and again, but I put that down to my own three connection running 200ms ping with ****e download rather than the BO2 servers. That said I'm enjoying it more when it runs smooth cos I'm finally getting a more decent score, see I'm on the best of the three network routers but because three don't deliver on thier promise I'd get a MOD Nat rating and suffer when playing those with good broadband. I've no choice in this, no decent landline and no cable or fibre cable.

BTW what's black hat??? Lol

Earlier I could do no wrong, winning every game and holding a 5:1 K/D. Cue a 20 minute break. Can't shoot nowt and struggle to go positive.

Maybe it was lag compensation, I dunno.

Also, the gun fire and nade sounds disappeared earlier. Trying playing Nuketown without that! Somehow still top scored both times but it was damn awkward to say the least.

Going over to extra vision in the morning and getting a refund for fail ops an putting in my preorder for farcry 3 and can honestley say if that game has lag comp which i seriously doubt it will but (IF) it does im actually gonna cancel my upc net and go with a meteor dongle just so i can play it fairly an lag like the rest (the people who normaly piss me off) that is lol its a damm shame too i quite like BO2 its a well thought out game its just the netcode for the servers that let it down......PS to those hoping it will get patched it wont that vonderberg bloke or whatever is name is,is denying all comments thrown at him about the lag comp subject so in otherwords `we dont care` nor will they ever COD is like nike these days your paying for the name and thats all there is to it there untested,update riddled lag fests and i for one am saying no more im washing my hands of COD

I played great in the evening. Tonight I was terrible. Lost a lot of confidence. Going one on one I almost know I'm about to lose the battle before I even come across someone. Really frustrating.

Story of my cod life, I am on o2 3g and the connection is either pretty good when I can get a good 50/50 of jumping someone or lag comp of a second or two means games that suck big time.

This is exactly how I how felt! It was then a snow ball effect, almost self abuse in gaming terms tbh in that I continued to play as many more games as I did hoping things would correct themselves out. I can be stubborn

Was one of the weirdest sessions I've ever had in CoD.

I started on hardened. All going fine until I got to the first strike mission. Defend base for 10 minutes. Had it a few times to under ten seconds and ran into a clusterfuk. I fukun hate strike missions. My OCD won't let me skip or restart on an easier level either.

Seriously? Actually, never even played MW3 one. But this one was like really bad made for TV 80's movie. The dialogue is so bad, way to many cut scenes.
COD4 was the best campaign mode imho. They've been getting steadily worse.

How to fix lag compensation.

Right guys, this has worked for me so give it a bash. I understand it may not work for everyone but something seriously needs to be done about this lag comp....it's really ruining the game and I think it would be a fantastic CoD if they sorted it.

Here's what I did...

If you have a router and a modem...get rid of the router. Throw your ethernet cable into the modem and avoid the router completely.
Next, (and this is the most obvious one)...set your search preferences to "Best" when joining a lobby. This works for me if I switch back and forth between "Best" and "Normal".

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. But at least give it a go.
