Is it just me or is the lag comp getting worse? I've rage quit every game I've played today because I'm losing every single 1v1

I don't know if people know or if it will make a difference. Before the last patch I had my search preferences set to "best" and most of the time the connections were decent. After the patch connections seemed to go to absolute ****e for me and I couldn't get my head around it. I checked search preferences again and it had switched back to "any". I changed it back to "best" again and the connections improved. Having said that it's not hugely consistant but it's better than before. I can't guarantee it'll work for everyone but at least have a look and give it a shot if you haven't already

Because they're appealing to two different demographics.

Yes, both of them are FPS but Halo has a competitive edge in MLG. CoD moulds their games for the lowest common denominator. The more little casual kids can get these mad scorestreaks the better. Just pester mammy and daddy to further invest in Activision products.

They're not interested in having people pick up the game and try to improve, they want your grandmother to play Kill Confirmed and come out with a score of 6,000. Thats what the game is designed for...mainstream pick-up-and-play. It's the reason the MLG players avoided CoD like the plague all these years - they know exactly what it is. It wasn't made for them.

BS... besides the fact that competitive CoD is basically stripped of all the crap (Killstreaks/Imbalanced perks)... there's not a chance my granny could get a score of 6,000 in KC... no way.


Seriously tho, i'd say the reason CoD has never taken off on a scale relevant to its commercial success, is because its just not fun to spectate. Its the same reason why LoL/Dota2 and Starcraft 2 are so massive (All 3 of them make Halo look very weak in comparison).. i hate playing those games but for some reason i think they're great to watch.

Haha!! Thats mental!! I see what you mean but from my experience in the game so far I havent noticed any, I was on tonight for about 2 hours and nothing. Ive only been knifed about 10 times since the game was released so Im pretty happy with it

Must be alot different on the consoles compared to the pc, knifing is mw2 level on the pc

I never really noticed it either on PC.. no worse than usual anyway. Except when they're using the ballistic knives

Yeah Im on xbox and even when theres an enemy directly infront of you it can be difficult to get them. Im MW3 and prior games I could try run at someone if I was out of ammo and try for the knife but now I run away like a coward :pac:

Im taking black ops 2 back have 40mb down 6mb 40ms ping like most of us yeah? well heres the story lads its lag comp all the way i promise you were all at least half a second behind 1 on 1s are a thing of the past most kills i would get are on people who didnt see it coming haha but true none the less...anyway im playin cod a long time im a top player but this game im getting destroyed no matter how much effort i put in LMGS,SMG,ASSAULT,RPGS you name it all i get is a hitmaker fest followed by instant death om me an in the killcam im missing with every bullet an hes not hurt in anyway shape or form and to make it worse he shoots me with 2 bullets lol BTW IM ON 360.....Right so hes the score the absolute truth my friend plays on ps3 using a meteor dongle coming through his laptop wost net you have ever seen! an yet everytime i pick up the control pad i destroy it on averge game would go 19/6 or good game 42/11 so truth is this game favors the people with slow internet same with my friend from galway same setup and hes beasts it with his 1 bar connection only differnce is hes on xbox so no matter the console if you wanna have fun playing BO2 get a meteor dongle lol it works Hope this shed some light on the situation for ya lads i signed up on boards.ie just to share my exp......: )

^ I've stayed away from MP purposefully 'cos I know if I try it and the lag compensation is truely as bad as y'all say I'll bin it and never give it a chance. Hopefully this gets resolved / patched in the next few weeks. Really love COD but for this and hackers.

Not seeing this on 360 TBH . Most times people try and knife me they just swing the knife but they don't pop forward . Any time I try and stab an opponent I find I have to be right on top of them or else its a miss and I'm swinging at air .

Nowhere near prestige as of yet, but think my token will be used for the Black Hat, then create a class from then on, don't really care about Ghost as the lag makes even having it pointless sometimes!

my only problem ever with ghost was the feckers sititng in corners acting the maggot.

I think its nearly essential in blops due to the amount of uav spam and the unwillingness of team mates to take them fukking down.have a launcher on all my classes due to this

Have to say I have not been paying much attention to the unlocks - I've just been milling on through it - I'm doing ok with standard weapons. Honestly I think I must have a good connection speed cause I'm doing much better than I've done on other COD's.

You're the only person I've seen that has benefited from the lag compensation.
