Okay thanks I was just wondering, maybe you'd want to update the facebook page then on all fights as not everyone comes on here and reads every post and was just curious as i've not seen him on the recent posters, thanks for clearing that up! :)

It is most likely that there will be odds available for this event with Paddy Power. They generally run a sports book for my events and have agreed to do the same for Thai Wars.

They are in the process of doing some final checks then we will have full details later this week. Our Facebook page is always updated first then forums etc slightly later.

I would guess that they will provide odds on 3 fights first time round and expand it at later events

Good luck with it lads. I can't make it unfortunately. Al V Brian should be a good fight.

Anyone fancy a 20 euro bet on Rob Doyle's fight?

Am i right in thinking ringside tickets are 55 euro.. seriously... To an outsider it looks like someone's lining their own pockets..hopefully im wrong

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,666 ✭✭✭John Ferguson

    Hodgers fight not happening?

Unfortunately not, the opponent pulled out and the replacements available didn't suit.

Never like to see pull outs, especially so close to a fight. We hope to get Hodgers on an event very soon

You are correct!! VIP front row tickets are €55, and are all sold at this stage.

As a promoter we aim at different price points ranging from €28.50. This means if a customer wants a premium seat that option is there.

And to answer your question about pocket lining, it's quite simple. We are in the business of sports promotion and businesses aim to make profit.

As regards to the show itself, it looks like a class line up and I can't wait to see it. They seem to have been unlucky with pull outs but its to be expected on any event. If its anything like Paddy's previous shows, then it will be well organised, run like clockwork and the quality of the fights will be a given.

As regards to the pricing and the promoting, I suppose a much bigger turnout than normal at the actual event will show if it was worth charging the supporters more to get some promotion/publicity for the sport.
That and the quality of the televised event (when & what time it airs, duration, editing quality etc).

tickets said doors 5pm, still not even open yet! now twenty past six. hopefully the rest of the night won't be as much of a disaster

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 102 ✭✭Tweedle Dumb

Well after finally opening, head in to find my row of seats, doesn't exist, but in fairness they sorted me out with different seats straight away. Just before the fourth fight, the top rope came down, so that led to a long delay.

I thought the attendance seemed kinda low, imo but there was a good atmosphere and with good, well matched fights, with a couple of crackers!

Great night of fights, O'Connell vs Singh was fight of the night for me, those long knees of Singh's looked vicious.
Well run show, great fights, good food and plenty of drinks.
