    From the CCTV it appears the person was a white woman whilst the assailant was a black man. Looks like a hate crime to me by a racist. Absolute scum, he shouldn't see the light of day ever again.

    Castration is too lenient. He should be killed. You give me a gun and point him out to me, I would have no hesitation is killing him. Utter b*stard.

    What's really aggravating is his ******y little run away after he hits her. I hope the Met get him and kick five colours of ****e out of him.

    death penalty has been proven in America to not be a deterrent for crime
    I do agree that there should be harsher/longer sentences for assults

    Brutal.

    A bit surprised people are surprised by unprovoked attacks. I have been attacked in Dublin at least 6 times. It was when I was a teenager and very common.
    Scumbags would often attack if they out numbered you. Theft was never part of it just out and out thuggery
    . I was attacked once by a guy in my class who didn't recognise me when him and is mates jumped me. He certainly regretted it. His excuse was they were just having a laugh!!
    That is not even with the other fights where a scumbag just starts a fight for no reason other than seeing you.

    It could be; perhaps the man has a hatred of women and targeted her, similarly it could be about race, gender or social class, it could even be religiously motivated. Scumbags like that guy could have targeted anybody and had that girl been somewhere else then another women could have equally been the victim of the attack. In these types of attacks there is usually motivation.

    A punch like that is incredibly dangerous, and the victim is seriously lucky that she didn't receive even greater injuries. Countless people have died in the past from similar attacks.

    I honestly hope that this senseless attack doesn't traumatise the victim in any way.

    My brother was living with a friend in NY during a J1 about 7 or 8 years ago who was the victim of a gang initiation in Harlem. He was using a pay phone in broad daylight when a black teenager hit him in the side of the head with an iron bar which in turn smashed his head into the pay phone. His jaw was almost detached from his skull in the impact and his injuries were horrific to say the least.

    Cops said it was gang initiation and there would be very little chance of catching anybody.

    This is the kind of **** that gangs do.

    Sick of hearing all the excuses for these scumbags - they had no playgrounds, the government hand outs only covered the basic sky packages ... these vermin are of no use to the human race. That is of course if this was an unprovoked attack as described.
