Once again - the Wii U update is NOT 5GB, it is closer to 1GB. Proof - check this user's bandwidth at roughly halfway http://t.co/sqb187hh

Apparently the Wii U does actually upscale Wii games; supposedly they look much sharper and cleaned up. Looking forward to seeing what Galaxy looks like on that so, cause I thought that was a great looking game anyway

ign have a video comparison of skyward sword and tbh in that it looks as if the wiiu might even look a bit worse:

Well that's dashed my hopes.:( It looks blurry compared to the Wii I think is the best description.

Just seen on twitter that the nintendo ID's are console locked. So if your console breaks or is stolen you lose all the games you've downloaded?

It's the same on the Wii and 3DS, never bothered anyone before
If your console is stolen, presumably it will work the way it works now : you report the crime, contact Nintendo with the crime reference number and they sort it out for you. Eventually :)
If it breaks, you may find you're obliged to send it in to them for repair or transfer.

Besides, isn't there a plan for Miiverse to be used as your unique identifier that ties you the customer to content rather than the console?

I think the 360 looks better tbh.

This is all fine and dandy when comparing to 7 year old consoles, but Nintendo need to spend the next 12 months embedding the Wii U into as many homes as possible as the next gen MS and Sony efforts will blow it out of the water.

i think it just looks brighter. considering they havent been announced i cant see their new consoles out in 12 months. i more see it going announce at e3 show tech demos 12 months later show the probable launch titles and then release in 6 - 12 months of that. i also think its not graphically gonna be such a big jump (off the bat at least) maybe in ai and physics. really what nintendo need is to get some quality 1st party and exclusive game announced multiformat does not win you figures.

do ya think ? i believe the likes of monster hunter coming out , nintendo first party games that nintendo will do just fine. i dont think ms or sony hardware will be as powerful as people think it will. Sony losing money as it is and i dont think they can afford another hit like they are having with the ps vita. As with microsoft i can see them doing the exact same thing they have being doing with the 360 but push casuals with kinetic bit more and just neglect their core audience and just offer multiplats like they have being doing.

Sure all of this is my opinion but having being a sony user since 1998 when i was just 8 years old they have really being going backwards as of late and although they have tried and kept pushing new ips only 3 i have truly enjoyed and they only made 1 of those franchises.

Nintendo already have with the wiiu announced some of the creative titles for 2013 with wonderful101 , bayonetta 2 , pikmin, monster hunter etc.. and thats just for till the summer. If ms and sony announced their console at e3 and say the price point was 400-450 . to me it look alot better to buy a wiiu which is priced at 320-380 with all those titles that some would drop in price than buy one of those consoles for 100 euros more with no game.

now all of this is my opinion but i just have a feeling its gonna be like with the wii,360 and os3 again that nintendo consoles are gonna sell, xbox will take more consumers from ps side and ps4 i hope does alot better than it has being doing but there are stupid people running that company as of late.

When Reggie came to meet the ones queuing on Saturday night, he mentioned about it being Metroid Prime's 10th anniversary, which led me thinking if we can't get Metroid Prime 4, maybe Prime Trilogy HD Collection?

There isnt one credible games journalist who doesnt think both consoles are due next christmas.
Also every single confirmed leak is looking like they will blow the wiiu out of the water.
And multiformat does win you figures when youve got the likes of GTA, Bioshock and then add in all the exclusives Sony and MS have spent a generation developing while nintendo rested on their laurels of mario and zelda

TBH the only Sony exclusives that I've enjoyed have been Uncharted and God of War. And at that, only Uncharted 2 and God of War 3. Uncharted 3 was a bit of a mess, with insane difficulty spikes out of nowhere, where they essentially dropped you into places that were full of people shooting at you, and blowing things up around you, while the shooting mechanics in the games are really poorly done. God of War 3 was great.

Microsoft exclusives wise, I enjoyed Fable 2. Can't think of any other exclusives that I liked.

remember now ms have released 5 halo games this gen and sony brought out 3 uncharted games

there has only being 2 zelda games on wii , one of which was a gamecube game and 3 mario games , 2 galaxy 1 nsmb wii

dont make the mistake like i did before seeing mario tennis , mario kart etc , those are other titles that arent really mario games.

nintendo also brought out new ips like last story , xenoblade , pandora tower , brought back punch out, donkey kong country returns , kirby epic yarn and the likes of sin and punishment.

every company brings out their key titles frequently that will sell , hell my fav company sega do that with sonic but its not the only thing they do :D

I can safely say there are more Nintendo exclusives I would like to see continued than Sony. I don't have a 360 so won't comment except to say my reason for going with PS3 was it had games I was more interested in. Infamous is my favourite with God of War second. Uncharted was far too linear and that's coming from a fan of the Prince of Persia Sands series. It was just run, jump, climb and pray those 100 guys who can see you clearly in a sandstorm with their grenade launchers and sniper rifles give you a wee bit of a chance. And that was between all the cutscenes. But they're sooo pretty. :)

The wii is tucked behind the tv and a pioneer sound system with airplay, for the football we bring out the laptop and use sky go.its got it's own WiFi and I am putting sofas and a bar in it soon.

Source? Because nowhere I read (mainly Eurogamer and GamesRadar, dabble in a few other places) has stated this.
Also every single confirmed leak is looking like they will blow the wiiu out of the water

There hasn't been any confirmed leaks of information about the PS3/360's successors (at least in terms of what kind of graphical fidelity they will be able to achieve). Plenty of rumours, but absolutely nothing concrete or even credible.

I don't think we're going to see the same disparity between the Wii U and the PS4/720 that we had with the Wii and PS3/360 as that kind of leap in technology (and the resultant leap in costs for both developers and consumers) isn't viable in the current economic climate. I think anyone expecting them to be absolute powerhouses of machines are going to be bitterly disappointed!

i cant remember one home console which was announced and released in the same calendar year. please supply sources to these "credible" games journalist that say it will blow the wiiU out of the water. plus the wii was by far the weakest console and clearly so as it was still SD and still sold 30 million more than its closets rival.
and no multiformats dont win you a console war cause if you can get it on something else then you have a choice so may not choose it they help sales yes but its exclusives you cant get anywhere else that generate real console sales.
and dont be silly trying to claim that sony and MS dont try to rehash the same game over and over again too. ninty does it fair enough but dont try to pretend they are the only ones who do it.

You couldn't think of a console launch that happened in the same year it was announced and I gave you one (and I didn't have to think very far back did I). Whether or not it was rushed with a number of flaws is irrelevant. It happened.

On another note I would fully agree that we will see at least one new console (from either sony or ms) by next years end. It's been 7 years since the XBox 360 so I'd be shocked if a next generation console isn't released. I'm guessing that most people on here would agree.
