    Not just that section...the constitution as it stands was ratified in 1937. With modest amendments since that date.

    It was effectively drafted by DeValera. - a conservative catholic and then handed to archbishop Charles McQuaid Before being sent for verification to the feking Vatican...I kid you not...

    And we wonder why the RCC have a stranglehold over this dank fethid little island.

    How about we fuel a bonfire with all the extant copies of the constitution and place all our beloved clerics on top....

    A nice return of the Auto de Fe but for this time for those that first invented it ;)

    Yes, of course it should be removed.
    A sh1tload of 'The people of Eire' do not acknowledge our obligations to some made up drivel.
    It should be removed from the constitution, the courtroom, the schools, everywhere except churches.

    Yes! Quite simply yes it should. It has no place being there as a religous belief is a personel thing and not a matter of state affairs. It should be OUTRIGHT BANNED! in schools and any religous rituals that normley take place during school hours be halted straight away! I just think its funny that the tax payers money is being spent on spreading religion in schools with these ceremonys on during school hours, where teachers are paid to attend mass with the children. I recall a recent statistic where 12% of primary school hours is dedicated to religeon and only a mere 8% to science and that to me is just disgraceful!

    Its time for a change in this country and I think abolishing religeon in all offial cases (Court,Government,education)would be a very good start.

    Yes, of course it should be removed but there are a number of areas religion should be removed from before we tackle the constitution.

    My reproductive rights. Education and schools. Healthcare and hospitals...

    God doesn't exist and correct me if i am wrong but wasn't bobs knobs a nickname for a paedohile priest recently in court on charges of abusing young children.
