Bet he'll still gamble on him being fit when it comes to signing someone in january and the same next summer.

After them comments he surely can't, diaby is a luxury player now if he is fit use him but no more depending him

Bet he'll still gamble on him being fit when it comes to signing someone in january and the same next summer.

Its negligent to depend on him.

I'm all for retaining him to goive hima chance (I don't consider him deadwood like Chamakh, Squillachi, etc) but he has to be considered an unlikely luxury.

Saturdays win was a morale boost.
What we now know is that we have the basis of a decent team. What Wenger and the board need to be straight about is that this team needs additions. We cannot be goign by the seat of our pants all the time.

Its clear to me that our weakest position is left back. A real show of ambition in January would be to go for Leighton Baines. Think of what a top class addition he would make - defensively, and from set pieces.

I also would like us to go for Al-Habsi from Stoke in goal.

We are a big enough club that if we want a Stoke player, we should eb confident that he will be desperate to make the step up. Go in, wave the chequebook, test their resolve, and if needs be, let him know we want him.

I'm not advocating tapping him up (actually I am) but everyone else does it, (and does it to us) so lets stop being nice.

United weren't nice when they took our captain, best player and talisman. They also offered us elderly, overwaged, bit players as makeweights in the deal.
They did what was right for Man U, and to hell with everything else.

    Al-Habsi plays for Wigan.

I definitely agree with you though - LB is a position we need better cover at. Santos is no where near good enough. Gibbs is always out.

Yes, Begovic is Stoke Goalie. Fair play.

I rate both of them (Begovic and Al-Habsi).

Either would be a good move.

If we're looking at keepers, I'd look at Ruddy. He seems to be proving OK at Norwich. I wouldn't say he'd be a starter for us though as I'd (personally) rate Schez over all three of them.

    As of today, iI wouldn't.

I think he's got potential to be world class though.

However, our goalie two and three are poor. There's nothing wrong with having top class competition for the number one spot (which Szch and Begovic/Al Habsi would offer) I'm sure you agree.

I would love us to go for Begovic he is a really under rated keeper and head and shoulders above what we have at the minute, think hes only mid 20s too??? And would only cost in the region of 6-7 million. I rate him really highly deffo top 5 in the league!

Diaby would be a massive player for arsenal fit he could stay fit, is it just a coincidence that the slump started since he's been injured this year? Maybe it is, but the team haven't adapted to him missing as quick as you'd like.

There's a reason Wenger shows so much faith in him & Blanc waited as long as possible before ruling him out of the squad for the euros.

& Frimpong's away to Charlton on loan until January

+ on MOTD 'Arry was on and still reckons Tottenham have a better squad than arsenal & will finish above them, Vincent Kompany was on too & said arsenal were the best team they played this year (think he meant in the league), he wouldn't say if arsenal would finish above tottenham - being a bit diplomatic - but you could see he thought they would

He said Diaby's muscles were troubling him and there's great fiber in All-Bran.:D

Cheers for that:), seems like Wenger and Diaby could be close to giving up I have no poblem with him still being in the squad as has been said unlike Chamakh, Squillaci etc, he could come good and we have no chance of shifting him either, but Wenger has to start looking at replacements now we do need a powerhouse of a midfileder I have hopes Frimpong might develop into that but dont have time to wait. Heres hoping the scouts have a target in mind.

Tommy scored again for the u21s
Surely a promotion is on the cards

There was also talk about Vorm the swansea keeper being signed a few months ago. I think we need to sort out our defense once and for all to be in with any chance of competing for trophies in the next few years.

I'd just be happy if we signed players as additions to the squad rather than replacements.

Spot on it is so frustrating knowing that the past 5 years or so weve always just been 2 or 3 players short of really mounting a title challenge.

On the keeper situation; Woj's undoubted potential accepted, its probably a position that would be a very good area for us to invest significantly in, in terms of an older more experienced GK. The way we play makes the position pivotal - we play a high line so our GK needs to effectively act as a sweeper, our possession game means his distribution is crucial, and given our lack of a natural commander of a defence (a la JT or Vidic) he needs presence. Someone who ticks all those boxes is world class and doesn't come cheap. Mad Jens for all his faults did most of those; most of the time. He was a cracking keeper truth be told.

Won't happen. Are you forgetting the young guns and Wenger's affinity to them.

I remember a game against spurs where Jens ran out of his goal, shoved Robbie to the ground and legged it back hoping the ref didnt see him :D

    Unfortunately he did :(

Brad Friedel would have been perfect for us - shame he ended up where he did.

You know what really makes me happy about the Spurs result? We consigned them to a negative goal difference! :D

Let's get a bit of momentum going again. This team needs to forget about the past month now and kick on from the Spurs game on Saturday. We are not out of contention yet in the league.

Nine points from the top is not a lot with the way this league has played out the last two years. We just need to get a run going which I think we will do with Wilshere, Cazorla and Giroud hitting form hopefully again. Having Giroud confident will make or break us.

Starting Walcott has to be considered strongly now too. His crossing was decent on Saturday (cannot believe I'm saying that after last year) and his movement in play has improved. He loosens our one dimensional play a bit with his runs, important to have on the pitch imo.

Also can I just say loved Merts reaction to scoring his goal on Saturday. It was an old school love for football style celebration. No show boating antics after, just sheer delight for scoring an important goal for the club.

If we drop 9 more points over the rest of the season we'll finish with fewer points than the top 2 last season.

Loving Giroud at the moment. Finally something for us to aim at when crossing :)

I have no doubt the top 3 will drop alot of points

But I have no doubt we will too, we are def out of contention

The main reason he'd have been perfect for us was he always had cracking games against us, be with villa or blackburn. I was very optimistic when i saw lloris start.
