keeping bull weanlings till March

    I normally sell my February/March born weanlings in say November. They would normally weigh say 300kgs and I would get say on average 750.

    I now have room in the shed to keep a few bull weanlings until March.

    As you can see my stock would not be in the higher end quality wise, but they are average stock at the same time and it is quite possibe that when they are bought they may be squeezed.

    If I was to keep my bulls until March, (to avail of good conversion weight) would farmers be still interested in buying them as bulls and squeezing or would they be too far advanced to squeeze.

    Depends on part of country, how far along they would have progressed, im in similar position, have squeezed though, might be more customers form bullocks imo good luck with whatever you choose

    It depends on there weight as you bulls are 300kgs in November next March/April they will average 360 kgs, some will be over 400kgs. Most farmers that buy bullocks would not be intrested in bulls over 330kgs as most that casterate at that weight band the animal which sets it back a lot. Using budizzer you can have a few rigs.

    There is huge demand for contenintal bullocks in the spring but what price for 330 kg bullocks, if they make 750 in november will they make 900 in march to break a bit with even.
