    Its the 90th birthday of BBC Radio today (Wednesday 14th/November 2012) . . .

To mark 90 years of the BBC, all the BBC radio stations came together earlier today to share a special composition by Damon Albarn.

I grew up listening to BBC Radio 1 in South Dublin courtesy of a roof aerial pointed towards Wales I think? Loved the Top 40 on a Sunday
afternoon, two hours of all the very latest tunes in the charts without idle chat or adverts! FAB :)) Nowadays I listen to BBC Radio2,
although I do like a bit (quite a bit) of BBC Radio 4 too, not forgetting BBC Radio 5 for more chat + loads of sports talk.

I love BBC Radio, fond memories of tuning into Radio 1, Sports commentaries on Radio 2 and TMS Cricket on the first Radio I ever had.

So much quality over so many genres. Everything from 6Music to Radio 4 and all points inbetween.

Their listen again site http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/ is a treasure trove, as is the Desert Island Discs archive http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/features/desert-island-discs/find-a-castaway.

Like you guys I love BBC radio, primarily Radio 4, World Service, 6 Music and a bit of R5. Though I'm puzzled why you included a picture of radio's natural enemy, the TV camera!

The best radio in the world.

What a shame the BBC radio stations are not relayed here in the South so that you can receive them loud and clear in the car!

PS: I wonder is RTE radio relayed up North?

Indeed but so many issues to stop it.

    I'm a huge fan of BBC R-4

"The World Tonight" followed by "book at bedtime" are my staples.

Maybe some reciprocal arrangement with the North could be made, whereby they get RTE we get BBC? (on the move in-car).

They get Rte tv via digital once the analogue signal was dropped so maybe some reciprocal arrangement as you say.

Love BBC radio, it makes radio here look (sound) embarrassing. I'm lucky in that I can pick up BBC on DAB at home so I get crystal clear reception. Long may it continue.
