Simple Puff pastry fillers?

    Going though a ready roll puff pastry stage, started with sausage rolls. Then tried dark choc and peanut butter but that was too bitter.

    Any suggestions for stuff you can just fire into the pastry, fold over, egg wash and bake? Ideally chocolatey.

    Chocolate pastry cream is pretty awesome.

    I think my mother used to just put on egg wash, slice the sheets of pastry into rectangles and bake them. They would puff up sort of like eclairs and after they were cooled she split them and put whipped cream in them and coffee or chocolate flavored icing on top.

    It may have been 2 layers though, not sure.
