    Can the server be updated and wiped(Not required but for the best).

    This works pretty well for protection against griefing/stealing as you can make regions that are player specific. If each player is given their own world and the entrance is region protected then there should not be any problem with griefing/stealing.

    ...Nukes will need to be disabled in the IC2 config.

    Might be a good idea to put down a filled notebook in a writing table at spawn so another 70 ages won't be created to get symbols.

    Updated to the release version of FTB, brand new map for it as well. Unfortunately minecraft session servers are down, so I can't actually test it.

    Try restarting your client a few times, It worked for me.

    Right so it seems by default certain GregTech recipes are disabled by default(Macerator seems to be one) which is good!

    Yea it was bugged so Dec has disabled GregTech altogether.

    I thought the whole reason of FTB was it was much more stable than tekkit. If there are so many bugs with GregTech then why is it in FTB in the first place, at least until the're fixed

    Am i right in thinking that GregTech just changes the recipes of machines to make them much harder, is that all it does...

    It adds some additional machines and material as well.

    Wiki is here however I am not sure how up to date it is.

    You could also check the config file as it will list anything that is added.

    Ye i seen that page, the introduction could do with an extension :P

    It looks cool, same about the bugs, what kind of issues where people having.

    When everything calms down i'll be focused more on the technology/ machine stuff rather than the magical items

    RP2 should be out for FTB in the next few weeks when it is updated to 1.4.2 which will make it a bit more fun.

    FTB has permission from all the mod devs to have their mods included which in theory should make the mods be more compatible with each other, resulting in a decent modpack with faster updates.

    AFAIK it doesn't have the additional pipes mod which is a bit disappointing, could be wrong though.

    New update 1.4.4 is not compatible with the current server. If you want to keep playing then don't update just yet.

    Yeah but if it took an experienced and aggressive techer like you 6-7 hours to reach that stage, it would thus take a regular player like me 6-7 days to reach the same level of progress, and it would take a casual or more inexperienced player 6-7 weeks. Its just not feasible to nerf the entire server to make the bobages of the world happy - most of us aren't Minecraft gods and don't have fully enchanted diamond armor 2-3 hours after the beginning of the vanilla server :p

    Don't think I would like GregTech Myself. What I enjoy most out of modpacks like Tekkit and FTB is not advancing my machinery and that but actually using the stuff to do different bits and pieces. GregTech would only add tedium to the game for me when I could be making printers etc.

    You can make 3D printers using computercraft and Redpower 2. Would be a bit advanced for me but i'll get around to it eventually.
