    The decision to cancel rather than divert IWT liners is symbolic of the lack of interest IE have in railfreight. To cancel one of the few profit making trains they have reinforces how right the Minister for Transport was in questionning whether IE were really trying to be efficient. To dump IWT back on to the road because of IE incapability to plan infrastructure works around their customers needs is the kind of attitude that cost them the DFDS contract. I'm sure IWT got the message!

    They were only cancelled for a couple of days, one of which was a public holiday on which they'd not have run anyway.

    They do tend to run on bank hoildays as they have most times this year so far.
