Spanish Language Book for Beginners

Hi,

I'm hoping to start learning spanish soon, but before I commit to any classes (which are that convenient for me to start atm), I was going to get a book on amazon and she how I get on on my own.

I'm fluent in french so I'm hoping it won't be too difficult to get the basics.

I'll look into classes in the new year but for now, has anyone used any books that they found helpful?

French will help but there are very apparent differences between the two languages.

If you're interested in grammar and grammar-related exercises 'A Spanish Learning Grammar' is a good start.

Depending on how hard you work you might outgrow it but it's an excellent introduction.
