Is it true that in first year their timetable changes every week? Or even often maybe?

I can't speak for that course but in a lot of courses the timetable will change from week to week, its not too unusual. Especially in a course with lots of labs or group work, the hours will change depending on which group you're in, if labs are done on a rotation every 2 weeks, etc.
