How did you manage the 6x5 homescreen? I'm enjoying stock touchwiz's features a lot. It's leaps and bounds ahead of previous stock OSes.

    See this post on XDA

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1960039

Read 1st post - Get the file from 1st post, then using a root explorer, go to /system/app/ and delete the seclauner2.odex (or rename it to seclauncher2.odex.bak)
now reboot in recovery flash the launcher file you downloaded.
Reboot and it should be perfect!

I can hear perfectly well - the person I'm calling is finding it hard to hear me.

The little trackball on the HTC Hero was great for this!

Play away, it's no problem. A lot of these battery myths exist from obsolete battery technology.

The manual says to fully charge before first use. Better safe than sorry I'd say! It shouldn't take too long, mine was three-quarters charged when I received it.

So 4 days in and I'm beginning to get used to the size of the N2. Other than that the thing is a beast, particularly in terms of speed and battery performance.

Three things I'd appreciate a steer on:-

    1. I'd like to change the lock screen wallpaper to something custom like an image or photo but the only options I'm being offered are "Gallery" and "Wallpapers". When I choose "Gallery" I get offered no images (despite taking some photo's) and I don't want to use the options contained in "Wallpapers".

    2. I don't like the stock dialer so use exDialer. Is there a way I can set exDialer to be the preferred app which handles incoming calls instead of the stock app?

    3. I really like Apex Launcher and had no problems with it on the SGSII but it's crashed a few times on the N2. What's the preferred/stable launcher for the N2?

    Cheers,

    Ben

Has anyone got Flash to work on RTE?
Tried the apk linked to earlier in this thread but it didn't work. Any suggestions? .

If you use SwiftKey you can turn on Arrow Keys which displays and additional row of keys for scrolling.

Dopey question maybe but will a 64GB micro SDXC card work in the N2? I'm assuming a micro SDXC card is the same as a micro SDHC card just higher capacity?

Also, where is the best place to buy? I've used http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Memory in the past.

    Ben

yep he sdxc is just for "extra capacity" the 64gb will work. The cheapest I've found is on amazon.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sandisk-Ultra-Class-Micro-Adapter/dp/B007JTKM30/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1352300629&sr=1-1

jeez though since it's hot swappable in the note 2 32's would do the trick for almost half the price ;) only class 4 though.

Yeah the 64B works perfectly fine, using one myself.

Just ordered th3 class 10 64GB from Amazon for £40, reduced from an eye watering £110. Library of box sets for killing long haul flights here I come ;)

BTW, can I just say the battery life on this yoke is absolutely outstanding.

Unplugged it at 5:50am this morning, have been using it as usual throughout the day (some browsing, some emails, phone calls and bluetooth connected to a headset most of the day) and the battery is currently showing 71%. WTF

    This is Nokia 6310 territory!!!

Guys, how's camera on this thing?

Would you still recommend the phone? I really wanted an android phone next, but after the problems misses has with her Sony Experia I am really pushed away from android os.

I moved from the Samsung galaxy S3. I had the note 1 before that.
The s3 is a great phone but the note 2 is its big daddy. If you don't mind the size of it go for it. When someone hands me their phone to take a call it feels tiny. The camera is good enough and I like that you can write on the pictures. ... This is handy for me to mark things out and email them off. The software on the note 2 is very good, Samsung has it touchwiz interface sitting on top of android 4.1.1 some like it some don't. ..I like it.
So to answer your question. ...yes I would recommend it.

Im a bit stupid with technology so if anyone can help me out that would be great! Going away next year and I was thinking of getting the Galaxy note 2 because I want something that I can use as a phone and like a tablet too. Basically I want to be able to watch films on it, can I get an external hard drive and play it through my phone or do I have to get a keyboard with a usb port? If so do they even exist for this phone? Or at all? As I said I don't really understand how all this stuff works!

16gb is on the phone to start (some already used by the OS).

You can then insert a micro sd card to a maximum of 64gb.

If that isn't enough then you could also get an OTG cable which would allow you to read from external memory sticks / and potentially external portable hard drives.
