I don't think Gibbs or Chesney would have made much of a difference today. The attacking third is where our problems are these days and we were more or less at full strength there.

After the reading game I would have no problem with the likes of Arshavin or Chamakh starting in our next league game for no other reason than the first team need a kick up the hole at the moment.

This is the fcuking frustrating part why should we new to turn to Arshavin or Chamak when we have 70 odd million in the banks

Weather it's the board or wenger someone fcuked that one right up

I havent seen us play well in a full match this season. I missed Southampton. Reading was good in the second half but conceding 5 to them is not good enough.

Cant see how we can fix this, all we can hope for now is 4th once again and the League Cup . That will not keep players at the club!

Only heard bits on the radio so didnt get to see it, but should van Persie have walked? Sounded like it from the description on Today FM. Commentators gave the impression that United were flying in with bad tackles and getting away with them all.

Didn't see it either. At work today.
But the bit in bold there..........whats new? They've been getting away with that for 20 odd years now.

Heck, why not? Might shake a few heads and make them realise they don't have automatic places in the team.

Getting his jersey at half time, hope santos never plays for arsenal again

Arshavin would be more effective than Podolski on the left anyway. Just by being a lazy ****er we'll actually have somebody in the attacking third near Giroud. Podolski loves dropping into our half, facing our goal and playing a pass back to the defence.

    Really? Worse than last year?

A point worse than last year. Also we got 13 points from games 11-15 last year so I doubt we'll be in a better position than a year previous any time soon.

There's lads at that game today who sang their hearts out having probably spent a decent chunk of their weeks wages just to be there, and then you have Santos (getting paid god knows what every week) asking RVP for his jersey at half time, it's an utter disgrace. If I was manager at half time I would have grabbed that jersey off him and ripped it to shreds before substituting him for someone who actually gives a ****.

'arry redknapp reckons it'll be wenger's greatest achievement if he gets this team into the top four

they've been shít now since the international break, there must be some reason for it. Is the wenger-bould riff true? missing diaby?

He will start the majority of games there that makes him first choice

Really, ahead of Gervinho, Ox and Walcott?

Lets face facts here. Complaining about missing Gervinho, Gibbs and Rosicky is clutching at straws. Ramsey wasnt even his usual terrible self tbf to him.

United did not break a sweat there, as usual. What is Wenger thinking I want to know. Because with Van Persie scoring this stuff really kills the club, player and fans morale. Wilshere wont stick around for this crap much longer.

And another thing this was very similar to our Norwich performance.

Oh yeah I wouldn't blame Ramsey or the other missing players for that game. Although Gibbs is a great deal better than Santos.

Think diaby is actually a big factor brings something different to the midfield

Cleverly and Van Persie could have been sent off before Wilshere I thought, had Van Persie commited the foul he did on Sagna outside Old Trafford I think he would have walked.

I guess it just depends on your aspirations as an Arsenal fan.

Your manager delivers champions league football year in year out despite selling your best players every season.

Granted its tough to win titles when you do that, but its some achievement to make you lot competitive.

I admire him in alot of ways, but I can also see why he infuriates you too.
Arsenal are being run as a business, when the bubble bursts you lot will be best placed to survive, and the bubble bursting may not be as far away as some think.

Wenger is more interested in being true to this footballing philosophy than he is to winning at all costs, its admirable but also costly.

Then again, I am a Liverpool fan so i'm always going to be envious of a side who can cash in on their best players and still operate in the top 4 year in year out. Its miraculous really, but I appreciate the bar is being set a little higher at Arsenal than at Liverpool right now.

Well lets not pretend Wenger didn't make some insane selections today. Ramsey over Walcott and Santos over anyone was pretty crazy. Can't see any other manager sticking with Podolski as a starter with this many poor games in a row either.

How Ramsey, and Santos are starting on this Arsenal team is beyond me and Vermaelen is a shadow of the player he was. A typically inept performance. I honestly dunno what Wenger has to offer Arsenal any more. His judgement on players is very questionable. Jenkinson hasnt done alot wrong this year yet Santos who is a liability played instead of him. Ramsey continously loses the ball fu*king about with his flicks and showponying. Podolski wasted two balls passing them over the sideline today. Todays perfomance, although the scoreline didnt reflect it, was worse then the AC Milan game at the San Siro last year

Thing is Santos wasn't at fault for any of the goals today. Yes he f**ked up a few times but I really don't think he was the worst out there today.

Overall, it was just a gutless performance. We had nothing going forward and midfield looked totally disinterested. I think our biggest problem is that our two full backs, regardless of who they are, aren't pushing forward enough to put in crosses to Giroud. Even Sagna today, who I was expecting to be the main supplier of crosses, didn't seem to want to go forward today or take people on. Santos wasted two crosses but was only in that position maybe 3 times on the break.

I am starting to have serious doubts about this formation. I think Giroud needs someone to be playing off him to maximise his effectiveness. Our full backs aren't really getting the support they need from midfield and Ramsey shouldn't be anywhere near the right wing. If we had Diaby out there today on form, it could have been a different story, but unless some changes are made I can see this type of game repeating throughout the season.

Why oh why didnt he take Wilshere off? He had already got away with a clumsy tackle on rvp, Fergie didnt waste any time in whipping off Cleverly. Outside of the fact that some of the players are playing poorly the one thing that concerns me is the lack of leadership. I always thought Verm would step into that role but he's a shadow of his former self and looks rock bottom on confidence. Ramsey and santos are liabilities

Actually, over the last few games, I'd say Vermaelen is a far bigger liability. As far as I remember, he has been directly at fault for at least 2 or 3 of the goals. Then in an attempt to make up for it he makes breaks forward leaving the defence vulnerable, especially when you have Santos coming into the centre trying to cover for him. Maybe he needs a break for a while or maybe it's the captains armband is giving him too much pressure. If that is the case, then I think the armband should go to Mert as he has been pretty much rock solid in defence for us so far this year.

Van Persie's foul was never a red. It's a yellow every time but not a red. He was late, that was it.

Utterly gutless performance by Arsenal today, they got very lucky against QPR last week, when only winning the game due to QPR losing a player and they were woefull against Norwich in the previous game too. Very worrying times as an Arsenal fan. Wilshere was the only player out there that seemed to give a **** today, but anyone with a football brain could see that there was a good chance he'd get sent off after the ref warned him, so I think he should have been sacrificed, at least we'd be in with a bit of a chance 11 v 11 (albeit scarce chance). Cleverly should have walked before Wilshere in my opinion, but at least Fergie had the cop on to sub him, when he was on his last warning. It could and should have been 3/4-0 to united today. It was boys against men out there at times. I would class myself as a patient fan, but I am getting sick of us selling our best players, then building a team, selling on more players, all the while taking beatings from our rivals along the way. Rant over/

Sick again after another tame effort at Old Trafford, no width, no pace, no cohesian, no leaders, and fcuk all bottle. Gone are they good owl days when we had players that wore there heart on there sleeve. Only for Manonne it would of been 4 or 5 and this is a Utd side in first gear. Just simply not good enough anymore!!
