I came across this there. The 2012/2013 Beef Catalogue. More bull porn for the suckler lads:D.

We use Eurogene a bit ourselves. The Lim Brigadeer (ABI) is breeding super stock for us. Probably the best Lim we've I can think of over the years. I should be looking for commission off them for this:eek:

Just wondering have you ever used the charolais bull TUT or the simmental bull KFY and if you have, what do you think of them?

We run our own Charolais bull so very rarely use Charolais AI, except on the few PB Charolais cows. So I've never used TUT.

We used Newry (KFY) a bit alright. He's not hard calved and breeds good cattle. I would rate him as more of a beef bull than milk, but he'll probably hold what milk you have even if he doesn't improve it. Dont be afraid to use him, he's a very good bull.

good question, I was wondering that myself but then thought
If 20% of farmers spend €1000 + on AI the would make about €20 million divided between 5 companies = 4 million each
out of that you have maybe 50 bulls costing €2000 per year and maybe €2million in wages for maybe 40 employees = about €2million to pay for other costs and profit probably 50:50

Of course all the above is pure speculation

nostradamus is around for a never thought much of TUT or heard about much out of him, his low calving difficulty figures are really boosting him up
