If you had to make one change to Maynooth(town or college) good or bad what would it be ?

Have Posh and Becks stop asking me for money and to fix the damn traffic lights outside Supermacs. Too many close calls there.

Ugh Starbucks; overhyped watered down, fauxecological hipstermagnet.
Their coffee is not even that nice.

Dunno why but I love coffee from the Nescafe machine in Arts Block/Common Room

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 87 ✭✭purebeta

I loved those machines, until they moved the one out of logic 2-3 years ago :(
Now they just remind me of cold mornings without any coffee or hot chocolate!
Still, it's close by in Pugin...

I love the smell of starbucks but I love getting my coffee from the girls in Bewleys! I love them!!!
Last year I went in around 8 most mornings to get a bit of work done and I always get a hello and a chat from all the staff there! I go up now and don't need to say what I want, I get my usual with a smile and a chat! Miss being able to go more due to being based in Rhetoric.
Chill do some lovely coffee too!

a lot of the land around maynooth doesnt suit underground building due to the water table and ground composition, allegedly an envelope or 2 changed hands to get manor mills done in that regard.

Building a car park out of sandwiches?
Wouldn't last a day with all the hungry students around there.

    http://www.leinsterleader.ie/news/nuim-multi-storey-parking-call-1-4387474

an extra 72 spaces have been created this year which is news to me, and an extra 72 after the library done which is a start anyway. but in order for a multi-story car park to have an impact it would have to hold well over a 100, closer to 500, which would cost around 10 million, the collage are spending most of there money on capital buildings, there's not that much land to build something that big, and some think that continued growth will just bring more cars anyway

Much of that article is not accurate.
