freeview in clonmany co.donegal

hi does anyone know can i get freeview in clonmany .
i have a wideband aerial up. i have a free view tv but not picking up any signal ,

Can you pick up analogue BBC on your TV? One of the Muxes is now on full power for Freeview (and the Derry transmitter now turned on also) - if you're not able to receive either of these, then Freeview reception may not be possible...

Although I am sure this map ain't 100% accurate, it might give you an idea if the signal might get to you.

As for which signal to go for, forget Sherrifs Mountain (Derry), Limavady is your best bet as the power of that transmitter is far greater than Derry.

I don't think Limavady is up to full power just yet, keep an eye out for the switchover date, they may ramp it up a fair bit yet.

But then again, maybe the topography around you won't let a signal through?

The BBC A mux is on full power (20 kW) on UHF channel 50. The other muxes will go to full power on the 24th, with the 3 com. muxes at 10 kW.

Reliable reception of freeview is extremely unlikely in Clonmany. The very hills that RTÉ's "Moville" relay broadcasts from are in between Clonmany and Limavady's broadcasting station.

Hi there

There was an interview about a month ago with a rep. from Saorview being interviewed by Sean Doherty. The Rep. said that Clonmany area had a later 'switch on' date. There was also mention that some aeas will not be able to recieve digital with a standard box and would require satellite digital instead. Same problem in parts of Quigleys Point

This thread is about the availability of Freeview, the UK terrestrial service, in Clonmany.

The Clonmany Saorview transmitter was switched on nearly a month ago.
