Sky box acting up

Can someone explain why the epg service on the sky box is acting up? I can't seem to be able to record the last few days because of it. I can't change channels with the arrows in the centre of the remote next to the select button.

This happens me on occasions. I know it sounds simplistic, but i always find the old plugging out the box and back in again works a treat.
