Splitting a mutiswitch to add more outputs

Hi, I have a triax TMS 9x16p mutiswitch setup and I'm using all 16 outputs at the moment. I now need an additional 4 outputs and I'm wondering what are my options here other than replacing the 9x16 for a 9x20 switch? I'd like to keep the cost as low as possible. If I do have to replace it, can anyone reccomend a switch. I'm thinking about the emp-centauri ms9/20piu-6 v10

One possibly cheaper way of doing this would be to buy 8x 2-way splitters and split the 2x4 outputs from the 2 quattros. 8 individual outputs from the splitters would be fed to the existing 9x16 switch, while the other 8 would be fed to your new 9x4 (or a 9x8) multiswitch. You would also need to split the terrestrial signal.

Easier though to install a new 9x20.

You can split the Quattros using suitable quality IF splitters. EMP Centauri has "quad" splitters (4 Sat IF splitters in one box, 4 in 8 out).

Then you can add another multiswitch of any size.

The splitters suggested by Watty would make it much, much neater - they also have splitters which accommodate terrestrial signals. So instead of 9x 2way splitters, use 1x10way splitter (to split first quattro and terrestrial) and a 1x8way splitter (to split second quattro).

Just make sure you don't get TRUNK splitters by mistake. You can daisy chain 10 x Trunk splitters after a Driver amp (driven by splitters) and thus have 11 multiswitches. Regular splitters have a loss of 3dB to 4dB to both ports. A Trunk splitter is about 11dB to 12dB on one port and 1dB to 1.5dB approx on the Trunk daisy chain ports. The items look physically similar. Same applies to Cable TV splitters.

With suitable size dish and amps you can have two levels of 11 way split allowing 121 Multiswitches, with then 20 outlets on each. Total 4840 outlets

You do need a bit bigger of dish and one set of Satellite IF amps for such a system.

In contrast the single cable systems can only drive about 12 sat receivers from one special LNBF.
