Forgive me if its probably staring me in the face but could anyone prompt or tell me the main differences in the Ferguson Arriva 150 and 250? Thanks!
If you are ordering from that Polish site, the difference is a fiver.

    Thanks a lot again boyz....

Another slight irritating problem: I set up the Ferguson Arriva 250 on my own TV, a Sharp, and everything was perfect. However I bought the box for my father and have since moved it down to him, however when I hook it up to his Walker TV - The remote control fails to work, the light comes on the control as i press the buttons but I have no control over the arriva whatsoever. I have the Arriva connected to the Walker TV via HDMI. I've downloaded the iphone app and I can use this to change the channels etc but I want the remote working, as you do , ha ha!! Any help again greatly appreciated!!

The remote to my ariva 250 failed as well. In the end I had to return it. I got a new remote back after about a month. There was no explanation why the original remote failed. I was in the lucky position that I had programmed a OneForAll remote with the fergusons settings. Therefore I determined that it has to be the remote fairly quickly.

You need to identify what causing this so firstly disconnect and turn off the walker tv and try the remote again. Also turn off any energy saving bulbs if there are any in the room . The fact that your iphone works would lead to believe the remote being faulty but it seems like a coincidence that this happened right after you connected to another tv.

That seems like an unreasonable delay for a remote swap out

Sorry Tony, I did the unforgivable and purchased this unit off one of those foreign crowds ..... So the delay was first to post it back to Poland. They told me then that they sent it to Ferguson which had it for about 3 weeks before doing anything.

Was so pleased with the ariva 120 that I got off you that I decided to get the 250 for it ability to play DivX files. However money was tight at the time so I took a chance on the foreign provider. Ah well!

Ok I'll get to it, might bring box back to my own tv and see what the story is...

Don't be sorry :) We send (thankfully few) remotes back too which do take time to be replaced so we send a new one to the customer from separate stock and I'm sure other Irish suppliers would do the same.

    Update
If you order the 150 from Poland you are only saving €3.50 compared to ordering it from a certain .ie when you use the discount coupon that's in someone's signature.

And is there any chance that future firmwares will ever get upgrades for MHEG 5 ( Irish teletext ) or UK 7 day EPG ?

Hi guys, recently purchased one of these for my parents to help with the Saorview switch over, it picks up both RTE channels , TG4 and TV3 fine however I cannot seem to get BBC 1, 2, UTV or Channel 4.
Whenever I run a Terrestrial Automatic Scan, 2 are ok and another 2 fail (49000 and 53800).
Currently we can pick up all the above mentioned channels with good quality however with the switch over date fast approaching I'd like to have everything setup for them soon. ( I have also updated to the latest Firmware update)

    Appreciate any help:)

Trying to set up the 150 box.

I'm in the 'satellite list' setup section, selected Astra 2A, and now it's asking me for type a name in a box under the heading 'Add Satellite'?

I searched google, but nothing coming up. Any ideas? Thanks

When I bought this I was told it would pickup the English channels without the need to upgrade our satellite dish.

you have a satellite dish working and connected to the 250 then you should be ok make sure its connected to the aerial jack at the top not the one below

go to menu then installation and then satellite list and press ok on astra 2a 28.2 a heart will show up then go back to installation and select single satellite

select scan mode blind search and fta only yes and scan tv and radio and all channels should show up

Got a " No program found! " message, presume I'll have to buy something extra now.

Was the dish used recently ? ( does the alignment look ok when compared to neighbours setup )

Are you sure that you are connecting the cable from the dish to the correct (threaded) port on the back of the unit?

And that you are selecting the correct satellite in the "installation" menu?

Were they getting UK channels via satellite before you installed the 250, did you change any cables or connections?

They are using an aerial, I think I may have been sold this on false promises ( luckily I still have my receipt ).

Those who replied here were under the impression you had a satellite dish, maybe whoever sold it to you was too.
If they were receiving UK channels through an aerial, it may still be possible depending on where they live, otherwise you'll need to fit a dish.

Appreciate everyone's help, the salesman was well aware we didn't have a satellite dish so I will be paying him a visit very soon. Thanks again.

I'm wondering why you said this quote below earlier in the thread which seems to give the impression that you have a dish ?

You know a new Sky Dish and bracket together with Quad LNB can be bought for about €20. Cable would be an extra 10 or so.

You could put it up yourself. It doesnt have to be on a chimney. It can be 5 foot off the ground on a wall.

Ah I see, in any case hope you get a solution. If you do decide to DIY a dish yourself I can link to a step by step video, lots on you tube.

Well the salesman presumably considered the receiver would be based in a UK overspill area, if you post the location somebody will be able to tell you if UK channels can be received through an aerial. Satellite is still probably the best bet though.

I bought a arriva 150 the other day and I'm trying to tune in the Irish channels I've done a few auto scan (all channels) and a manual scan on channel 30 (Dublin area) but get no channels at all.but I also have 2 arriva 120 combi boxes and get all the Irish channels on the same feed very same cables. Any ideas on this

My Ariva 250 just arrived. I wired it up and turned it on and I'm getting nothing. The TV says "no signal" and the readout on the box is "write pending app data in handlock".
Has anyone any help to give me? What should I do next? Tia
