What to wear clubbing in Dublin (20 year old)

Hi all,
I'm going clubbing during the week with people from college, I want to look really good but I am clueless as to what to wear. I have a nice enough figure, size 10. I would like to wear a shortish skirt and show off my legs, but last time I went out like this was to a teenage disco so I'm afraid my fashion sensibilities are out of date! Please help!

The skirt I was thinking of wearing is a black cottony one that's figure hugging, and it kind of goes up to my waist but not really. I could wear it with a top tucked in. But what top? And maybe I shoudn't wear it?

And shoes- do i just wear flats because I'd be more comfortable and could dance with more confidence? Or do I wear these kind of wedge-heels that I have to feel a bit more sexy?

The big thing with going out "with the girls" is that you feel comfortable - there is very little worse seeing girls out in clubs that are clearly uncomfortable with how they looks/can't walk in their shoes/have their underwear on display etc.

If you have nice legs, then go for it with the short skirt. If you want to wear sexy shoes, maybe bring a flat pair in your bag if/when your feet get too sore (trust me, more people do this than you think and you'll be glad you did!). Or, if you think you'll just be dying with sore feet all night go for more comfotable shoes. Tank tops, sleevless tops and plain fitted t-shirts look nice with high waisted skirts/shorts - just dress them up with accessories (plus, you can get most of these styles of tops super cheap in Pennies or Dunnes or somewhere similar - that is, if you don't have some already!)
