For anyone disappointed they didn't get the Toshiba recently, here's a 40" TV for just over £300, thats about €400 delivered. This TV is not Saorview approved but has Irish Digital TV tuner (Mpeg4) and MHEG5 teletext. Again Amazon will deliver this TV to Ireland:…

For anyone disappointed they didn't get the Toshiba recently, here's a 40" TV for just over £300, thats about €400 delivered. I'm an idiot when it gets beyond the basics, so can you explain what an Irish digital tuner is? Would i still need a saorview box for eg?

Also, would any wall mount bracket work (applicable to the dims of the tv)?
I see the wall bracket suggested on that link is 60 stg which i would have thought is steep?

As far as I know, an Irish digital tuner is the same as a Saorview tuner, its just it hasn't been officially Saorview approved. If the specs say Mpeg4 and MHEG5, then you should be able to receive all the Saorview channels and the Aertel digital teletext. Can't help you with the bracket I'm afraid, haven't a clue.

Yeah thanks looks like the 42" Toshiba 42HL833B might be the better buy at £347, for a Saorview approved TV. Plus they will deliver to Ireland. They won't deliver the Digihome LCD to Ireland.
