I wouldn't bother. Much more negotiating room for punters I'd imagine.

Ok, they are rare and all that. But are they having a laugh???
    Hold the phone!

Whether or not its a dreamer price (personally think it is), would anyone seriously consider buying a car that has needed €4000 spent on it when its only 7 years old with a claimed 12,500 miles up on it?
new soft top , new timing belt, new water pump, new clutch and cable, 2 new front tyres
What sort of life has it had that it needs all that? Its not a frickin Ferrari, though I'm sure many will think it is since its Italian and red

Surely it's a fiat! By the time you will bring it to your own driveway, you will have another 4k bill!

Easily - on the continent. He did mention export, so he knows what they cost back in his country. I assume it is Poland/Lituania/Latvia...

Wait, is that someone shoehorning a diesel into it, or did that gen starlet actually come with a diesel option?

Don't think I've ever heard of a diesel Starlet.

That particular one started out as a 1.3 petrol turbo - says so in the advert ;)

    Neither had I!

I thought that perhaps there was a diesel model starlet, which is where the engine came from. And he just swapped the petrol 1.3, for the diesel lump in the other starlet...

    Obviously not:pac:

There was indeed, in the early mid-90s there were a load of them imported into Ireland from Japan. Usually white and 3 door. And with the "luxury" of air-con way back then :D. My family nearly bought one I remember from the Frank Fahey Motor Centre on the Naas Road.

Along with the smallest available engine. Perfect example of a car that was bought for the badge and nothing else.

    DREAMER :)

No electric rear windows, 120000 miles, no M kit, despite what it says in the ad. And it's not even a diesel...Dreamer is right!

Rare but not worth half that

It's worth practically nothing except scrap metal; It's what I'd call a "Frankenstarlet", a GT Turbo with a 1.5 diesel engine lifted off of another car; Nothing declared on the registration (the ad says "it's still a 1.3 on the logbook"). I can just imagine the comedy the moment it's brought up for the NCT :P

Somebody really takes their "amateur mechanic" hobby too seriously...
