I have a problem with badgers digging in a field. The field in about 4 acres with a heavy grass growth. The badgers are digging massive holes everywhere and it's destroying the field and killing the grass. Is there any legal way of stopping this. I think it's illegal to kill them anyway.

Contact your local NPWS ranger - if the damage is that severe they will trap and re-locate said badger. It does sound like an unusual case though in that badgers will usually only excavate setts in woodland or large hedges with good cover.

PS: Are you sure its not rabbits doing this as I've seen similiar cases with them damaging pasture in areas with sandy soils??
