    For the record seeing as our incompetent government can't identify who some bondholders are...

    (P.S. Government, Noonan is one too! Don't say I told you!)

    But they are not by far the lot of them and to quote the Irish examiner (LINK):
    It is too late for Ireland to benefit from any change as only about €160m in outstanding payments is owed to senior, unsecured, debt-holders in Anglo and Irish Nationwide — now IRBC.

    So lets (or not) move away from the Anglo/IRBC if that part debate comes up.

    Ah sure feckit just pay them. its less hassle. just let the taxpayer,the old,the disabled,the children,the students take the pain.
    in return, get you head patted by the European Elites, be feted for being the best kid in the class and get your picture on the cover of Time magazine.;)

    To put it into context on a smaller scale, go into your local bookies tomorrow and place €50 on a horse in any race. your horse is at odds of 20/1
    your horse finishes last. tomorrow evening return to the bookie and demand your money back.
    The bookie not only gives you back your €50 but also gives you the cash you would have won if your horse finished first, €1000.
    he borrows this €1000 from a bigger bookie with a promise to pay him back €1100.
    The bookie is terrified if he does'nt do this you will not return to him again.
    this is the exact concept that unsecured bondholders are now being paid, just its on a mind-boggling scale.

    P.S. how long do you think your bookie would remain in business...;)
