Alternative to "burning the bondholders"?

I am sick and tired of readings posts on after hours stating that we should "burn the bondholders". I am by no means a fully fledged economist but I have a bit of a background on the subject and and feel burning the bondholders is the wrong way of going about things.

What do the well informed readers of this board think we should do?

I was always of the opinion that we should stab them with the pitchfork a few times before we get to the burnin'

Bondholders are pivate gamblers who bet and lost, but who we, the Irish taxpayer, are giving them back their losses because our retarded politicans.

"Burning" them is only a phrase.

If we stop paying back these losers, we can cut taxes/invest in the economy/avoid cutting services, i.e. it's win-win.

Well seeing as our idea of burning them was wrong, why don't you tell us what we should do.

But we risk locking ourselves out of the international bond market and that would be a bad situation to put ourselves in. I know burning the bondholders is just a term, hence why I put it in quotation marks.

Do you constitute "Just lightly scald them then" as a solution to solving Irelands economic crisis? I do not.

How exactly am I insulting people? Do you find that the replies to my thread are intelligent/serious?

Perhaps you could lock this thread and I could start a new one over on the Irish economy forum ? Cheers.
