    Hi,

my girlfriend and I are planning a trip to Asia for about 4 months in total and we're starting in Shanghai but wondering how long to stay there for. At the moment we're undecided between 1 or 2 weeks. The plan was to stay in the city for a bit and hopefully somewhere outside the city for a couple of days.
Anyone been and think two weeks is too long, or one week too short?
Really don;t know what to expect from the place. Also will be January when we land

I spent 10 days exploring Shanghai, Nanjing and a bunch of cities in between. There always was plenty to do and I could have easily spent an extra 4 days on the region. My vote goes to 2 weeks.

great thanks a million for the reply, looks like we're going to do the two weeks.

Also wondering is transport easy to use i.e. getting out of the city to various places. Just wondering about availability of english language signs etc?
