Recently had tailgate glass of a 03 V70 replaced by insurance blah blah. Got advisory letter that claim cost was €435 , no claim ok etc etc. Only problem is that enquiries for same job without insurance cover came in at €216 !? and that included the guy coming to my door as well. Can anybody enlighten me or is there actually a large rat in the room?

Exact same here .. rang around all the glass places (Autoglass etc) ... with insurance it was 450 euros with a 250 euro excess.

Without insurance it was 260 euros .....

    F*cking Gangsters.

This was over here in NL on a 05 V50.

I have to say I have not found any such problems with glass cover. My Audi A5 windscreen was replaced through Axa and my renewal had it listed as settled at alittle over €250. The excess should never apply to glass breakage as far as Im aware.
