    There was a summer?

You were probably just always in the wrong place, when the weather was good :)

    Yeah....in work:mad:

Id much rather be in a garage on a sunny day with the rollers up and air blowing in than in a stuffy office ND :)

I've travelled extensively to every part of the country and I'm not one for staying around cities or towns either, but this was the first time I've ever seen signs like that, and like I say I saw them twice on this trip so it was a surprise.

I know in Dublin, when people have wakes, they give out about the people who just come along for a gawk so I know of very few people who would put up signs for one.

You live twenty minutes away from me... And that's your first time seeing those signs?

Come up to "de town" more dude. You'll have a "wake/funeral" sign spotting field day ! :D

The glue is left behind, how to rid of it....

Get stuff called "Oops Remover and Cleaner", spray it on the glue, wait a few minutes then wipe. Glue gone!

Cleaned my wheels (MV2's are a complete pain in the arse), sprayed on some spray wax too, don't know if that'll do anything to help cleaning them in the future or not, but sure it was worth a shot.

    It wont's Alan :(

You need to do 1 big job on them once, then after that they'll be easier to clean. This involves taking them off the car in order to do the job properly.

The Newport stuff in the blue and white tin smells like proper cat piss and the Zippo stuff isn't much better. I wouldn't anyway but if it works, it works!

This is the only way to do them properly

I did a bit of work with a friend today - 03 gt tdi golf

Replaced inner cv joint on passenger side (you have to bring the broken one back to vw for a few bob back)
Replaced intercooler with genuine valeo replacement
Replaced both upper and lower intercooler pipes
    Brand new map sensor
New door lock gone into passenger door
Used spray to clean out the inlet and egr valve
    Changed air,oil,fuel filters
Changed engine oil and gear oil

No more rattle in the passenger wheel when i accelerate hard. Only a tiny spurt of smoke under acceleration now it clears very fast she had gotten very bad. No more oil dripping from the intercooler. No more boost leak. I am extremely happy with the car after this work. Shes back pulling like a train i didnt realise how much power i was loosing. All in all a good days work even if my hands are in shreds

    It's official, I'm a fecking nutcase.

Literally just finished working on the car. Replaced the turbo breather filter with a vortex style one, only to discover there already was one.... Threw in the new one anyway. I'm actually surprised and happy about it. One less issue with the cars unknown history.

    Also took at the EGR.

    After

Brake cleaner is the right shtuff

Again, happily surprised at it's condition considering 144k miles. I guess it's been fairly well minded.

The Passat was finally collected last night after picking up a 2006 Grande Punto on Wednesday - can't believe the condition and history with it for the price I paid (€3350 with a full service history, 1.2 with 73,000KM on the clock, 4 new tyres, spare wheel in the boot never touched, NCT'd 50KM ago until 07/14, serviced 500KM ago and is immaculate). Great little car... well it's not little really, my mechanic is 6 ft 4" and fit in the back no problem. Had a MK2 Punto as my first car loved the nippy little engine, nice to see Fiat have redeemed themselves mechanically (although mine only asked me of a new battery in it's whole life) but I've heard some stories from LIGHTNING.

    Out with the old:

    In with the new:

    Full-14260006.jpeg

    Plans for this include:

    * New alloys (same style as the current ones, hoping to fit them directly onto the current tyres)
    * iPod intergration (with some sort of dash or console mount near the drinks holder).
    * Install arm rest (plenty on eBay that pop into place with a few screws, could put the iPod in that? Hmmm...)
    * Vinyl parts of the dashboard (maybe carbon, not sure yet but it's common and it looks mean).
    * Same as above for door arm rests, although it's material not plastic so coulld be different.
    * Badgeless grill, I've seen a few with this done and it really looks nice esp. with the vinyl behind the reg.

First up after reading this thread from start to finish - clean it! Learned my mechanic has a DA and products so it will be getting a thorough massage.

    Nice Punto

Do the Headlamps black and wheels to match.
That pic with the badgless grill makes the car look a bet "Mean"
Nice looking punto you got there.
    Well wear.

Mazda 323F Sport 16's to Mazda 6 Sport 17s. Straightened, refurbished and fitted with a couple of new tyres and STILL a bargain!

Just finished washing the coonting thing. Just stripped it back with washing up liquid and gave it a coat of aqua wax, was getting a bit cold/wet for HD wax. Anyone who saw it at the meet will know why even that took ages :pac:

Another MR2 in the family  I picked this one up yesterday for the princely sum of €200..the head gasket is gone on her due to waterpump failure.

As it stands my mate is seeing if he can get it going again otherwise I'm taking her for parts. :)
