Using a turbo trainer with a Carbon/Alu frame

Hi all ive a bIANCHI Via Nirone in a Alu frame with carbon fork and seat stays. Is it ok to use this on a turbo as ive read before that its not advisable to use a full carbon frame on a turbo trainer. But im thinking it should be ok as its mainly a alu frame

Yes the turbo trainer melts the alu from the heat of the energy created by the turbo trainer

Seriously, it's no problem. You put more stresses on the frame on the road. The only problem is the boredom.

Ah its not too boring if there are a few hot naked ladies around you mopping up the sweat etc

I've been using my full carbon frame in a turbo on and off for over a year. In my mind I think the worst stress is at the drops outs at the clamping point, and that is probably worst when pedaling out of the saddle so I always stay in the saddle. I've never had a problem with it.

It can scare you a bit when you see the frame flexing under pressure, but frames flex on the road too, you just don't notice it.

If it does start to worry you though, especially if its an expensive frame you should just get a cheap 2nd hand bike for turbo use only.
