Just in case you didn't see it, there's an email about additional tickets awaiting you in your studentmail.

Yeah, I seen it but they aren't there if you click into it

Is college cancelled tomorrow for the UL40 thing? Like just from 2?

Doubt it. We'd definitely have gotten an email* about it if it were.

It's on in front of the Ski Slopes right? I'm assuming you've to use other entrances to the main building?

*Christ knows we get emails about everything else :P

Not officially, but some lecturers probably won't bother.

Oh, yay. Cultural Studies tutorial on Fridays from 5-6 (how am I gonna get home)? I went to one today and it fit in fine with my schedule. *sigh* Sorry for the whiny First Year stuff but that is really irritating.

Anyone know if it's possible to change to the one I went to today?

From experience these tutorials generally end up being cancelled.

Why would a timetable have 4 hours straight with the same lecture, in the same room. F* stupid!

Why throw a frisbee around the middle of the campus, Ignorant.

Bourke's in town are putting on an awesome line-up for tomorrow. I believe the Coronas are indeed playing on campus tomorrow.

Gotta love how they send us about 15 emails a week notifying us of Gardening classes or origami chicken making tutorials, but when there's actually something that the student body should be made aware of (oh I don't know, let's say for example the fact that the Plaza would be restricted from 12noon-12midnight) we get an email on the morning on which it will happen...

    Makes perfect sense...

Had this last semester on a friday and it ended up with us getting a 20 minute break and never been in there over 3 hours.
What would the point of getting up and walking to a new room with the lecture be?

Hahaha was coming on to say the same thing :)

Learned from a FB post last night that there's a big craft fair on today. Got the email at 11.05am this morning to tell me it started at 9am this morning.

    Dear oh dear.

Usually Prezi. But if she hasn't sent you links via email, then you're not supposed to have the slides.

I'm not enrolled atm so I don't receive emails from staff

Which module do you have her for?

I've had her for two, one where she had a series of Prezi's, the other where we had to go and buy the book of notes from the Print Room(which IMO was actually better than the Prezi's).

Best thing to do is to email her and explain your situation and ask her if she's making the slides available. She's one of the soundest lecturers in CSIS so she won't bite. :)

I dunno if anyone on here witnessed the crazy thing that happened on Friday.

I was driving in at around 5 to 12. Came to the PEDESTRIAN crossing outside the Schuey. Stopped the car to allow all the PEDESTRIANS (who y'know have the right of way) to cross safely.

Next thing a silver audi came up behind me and the female driver started leaning on the horn and shouting out the window to: "drive on you fcking btch"

Couldn't believe it, I was sitting there watching the steady stream of walkers pass in front of me while yer wan was still beeping and screeching behind me. She then tried to drive around me (she indicated and pulled out)

I opened my car door and roared "IT'S A PEDESTRIAN CROSSING" much to the amusement of the walkers, although I doubt it would have been so funny if she'd had her way and mowed them all down.

She told me to fck off again :( So sorry I didn't get her reg but I was shocked and a wee bit scared to be honest.

I drove on when there was a gap to do so and she tore up behind me. I turned right to the foundation and she went straight.

    What. A. Btch.

I paid for my link-in on the Friday it was due. I had the form filled out for ages before that but they don't take it until you have all the money with it. Roll forward to the Friday just gone by and I get an email from SAA at 4:30pm telling me I haven't registered for modules this semester.

I'm only repeating my FYP and the only way I could hae registered was by filling out the link-in form.

It gets better. On the email I was told there was an option to pay the €200 fine in installments. This is pretty rich because I was told so often when I had that yellow form in my hand that they don't do payment plans for link-ins. €568 was quite hard to come by and installments would have been perfect for me. But no, they don't do payment plans for €568. They have plans if you want to pay the full term course fee of €1000+ and they even have plans for the €200 fine for not registering modules.

It's especially upsetting considering how financially awkward it was getting the €568 paid off. I also was elected president of a society but if it transpires that I need to pay this fine to be considered a student I can kiss that goodbye too. Not to mention the really, really fun FYP I was starting.

Totally bummed but i shall wake up in the morning and descend upon SAA and get it sorted out as quickly as I can. Positive vibes peoples!

You pay link-in fees to the Fees office, the €200 fine is to SAA hence the difference in payment plans or lack thereof - and I'm fairly sure it doesn't apply to link-in people, just tell them you went to the Student Status Committee (I presume you have if you're linking in) if you haven't been in already.

I have no idea what the Student Status Committee is. I just got letters and forms in the post and filled in the link-in one and haven't had any hassle until now.

How many times will I be subject to seeing people nearly crash into the library doors in the morning having no idea that the library does not open until half eight?!
