How many people in the world have you met?

An introduction, hello, giving a public talk, retail browse, telephone inquiry, workmates, customers, social group, holidays, family, new members of the family, religious services.

For me I think it's only in the hundreds of thousands, maybe just short of 200,000 if I'm lucky.

I'd imagine meeting a hundred thousand people would be unlikely for most. =/ Depends on what you mean by 'meet' though I suppose. To me meeting means being introduced to and/or introducing yourself to a person. Walking past them on a busy street isn't a meeting!

I seriously doubt that I've met anywhere near that amount, or even either directly or indirectly interacted with them.

I've been working part time in a call center for the last 5 years (while studying etc).
I was only recently wondering how many different people I've spoken to over the years. Its got to be a fair whack of the country at this stage!

I hold the Guinness book of records title for shaking hands with the most people in a 1 hour period. It stands at 3,498 so technically I've met those people. If you add that to the other 4 people I met, that adds up to 3502. Do I win???

I always knew this day would come! Ive been keeping record of everyone Ive ever met, spoken to or had a mere passing. My friends thought I was crazy. My family wanted me commited. But nooo! I knew this day would come!! My overall figure? 157,895.5 (7 of them were dwarfs)
