    9/11
    Obama
    Stars n' stripes
    Boston
    New York
    Jews
"San Fran"........these things have nothing to do with a field in Roscommon.

Could people shut up about the US and tell us something about America!

America can and is an amazing country.
    None are perfect.
One aspect of the USA that is worrying though is that the country spends more supposedly on staff/equipment for the NSA to spy on their own people than they actually spend watching the rest of the world and safe-guarding their borders.

    Just food for thought.

I've absolutely nothing against the American people.
(Bother in law of mine is also American. A more decent chap married to my sister you would not meet.)

Is your sister married to many men? She could get in trouble with the law for that! :p

I was a week in L.A, few days in San Diego and a few days in San Fran along with quick stop offs along the coast while driving between the cities. Liked them all. Even L.A once you get used to it isn't as bad as people were making out I thought.

I'd probably go to San Diego if I was going for a longer stay or possibly San Fran, my few days in San Fran were sort of spoiled a bit by constant rain though so cant judge it fairly.

LA has a bad rep, but I don't mind it at all. I'd sometimes feel a little nervous downtown, but not any more than I would feel in parts of Dublin. If you're expecting something spectacular with celebrities walking down the street and all that jazz, you're probably gonna be disappointed, but there's always something to do there. A lot of great bars and it's a great place for gigs. It ain't a bad spot at all.

Make you wonder how many people actually read the OP in any thread!

Just goes to show ey. But anyway, I always say butter is way better to margarine and you just can't have margarine on toast and say it's the same.

Im aware the thread is a joke but as an aside, I have been to America twice now and although I really enjoyed it, the people would grind on me after a while, everything with them is upbeat, awesome, positive, all day every day and while thats a good trait, being surrounded by it 24/7 would really annoy me. You need a good vent every now and then but over there so many people are all about positivity and change. Also, the food is complete rubbish, all heavy carbs and Subway/chocolate treats. Id be 20 stone within a month! Great tourist spot but not for me to live..

Looks like a land of opportunity. We could build our super casino there and really put America on the map.

What about the native Americans, they could get restless? With Chief Ming in charge they won't be bought off with beads and trinkets!

You clearly don't know any real New Yorkers! They're great for a good moan about absolutely everything! Same with old school Bostonians!

After living in America a long time, most Americans are nice
After nearly dying,I found great concern from strangers, different parts of America people are different, but you need to talk to them as they will not make the first move, they love the Irish, you need to find a common ground,go with an open mind
