I think Podolski just really wants to succeed after having not been a success when he went to Bayern. This is his probably last chance at proving he can make it outside of Cologne, and he knows it.

Don't we usually get beaten after a champions league away game anyway?

Usually our luck dictates the gap is Wednesday - Saturday away to a Russian team before a big game, I'm sure I've heard Wenger giving out about that before.

Good point, He's also mature. Maybe the move to Bayern came a couple of years too early for him.

Either way he's with us now and he's loving it.

And if Man City beat us, we are ****!!!!:D

If they beat us very easily I would be annoyed but if we play to our potential and go down fighting then I would take it well. Nobody likes losing but there are honourable losses. I don't think they will beat us. I think it will be a draw but a win would really signal our intent. We have to nullify Yaya Toure's influence on the game though and I think Arteta and Diaby can do that.

Ok anyone nervous because of the last time we played in manchester at the same time as the all-ireland football final.

Very nice video showing Cazorla and Arteta's influence this year so far.

Arteta hasn't just got great hair eh?:D
Nice montage, like last years one, it shows he does a hell of a job.

What will the reaction be if we loose our next two league games

    The usual: WENGER OUT!

Most of the level headed people may be ok with it, as someone else said, if we put in a good performance but lose.

That would only be the case, I imagine though, if we were just unlucky or if gave away a stupid goal, or had a player sent off.

Realistically though, I think that we should still be positive and happy if we come away with two points, but 4 points (at least) should be attainable.

You mean OT last season? Wasn't that the AI semi final? I remember watching it in a friends house and checking Arsenal score on teletext every ten minutes. It just kept getting worse!

I'll be happy with a 0-0 or 1-1 on Sunday. Keep the momentum going.

It all depends on how we lose. If we play well and give it our best then no problems. If we do not give it 100% and chicken out like we did last year at this time then there will be a reaction. I never mind losing, it's how we lose. The only thing I am worried about now is our fitness levels as it dropped noticeably in the 2nd half against Montpelier

Anyway we won't lose. I feel we'll get a draw at least.

A weakened team put it up to a strong City team in pre-season. A full team should be able to at least match them.

Whenever I played as Arsenal in FM, I'd always sign Podolski (and before last year, Mertesacker too) and he'd bang them in just like he really is. Wanted us to sign him ages ago so I was very happy when we finally got him, and even more so now that he is playing so well.

Hopefully Giroud is just saving himself for the top top teams. :D

Yeah, it was the day of Dublin v Donegal in the semis. luckily I was at the GAA match so missed arsenal getting destroyed.

Wondering does anyone know what font is used on this seasons jersey and if it can be d/loaded anywhere? wanna make stencils for the young lads bedroom. I did a bit of searching but to no avail!

I was the same, kept getting texts saying we were losing by more and more, and Dublin were behind as the goals were flying in. Kept thinking it was the worst day ever but thankfully the dubs salvaged it in the end. If I remember correctly we lost to Blackburn the weekend of the final and I didn't really care that much, Dublin were the only team playing that weekend in my eyes

Arsenal's Irish Under 21 international Conor Henderson has joined Coventry on loan for 3 months:

I'm guessing a score draw will do everyone this weekend? I'd be happy enough with it once we look good, a win would get the hopes up though!

2 points from the next two and not fluking it would do me. I just want to see how our defence handles a non-Liverpool attack and if we can break through a non-Liverpool PL defence.

So, keep Per in the team for tomorrow or bring in Kos? I think I would fancy Kos against Tevez. Defensively we don't want to rock the boat either... It's a tough call for Wenger.

Very tragic news in that former player Chris Kiwomya's 7 year old son died.

Terrible news that. Arsenal v Forest at Highbury was the first ever match I attended. Chris Kiwomya scored the winner in the 81st min. We won 1-0

Can remember that game. Wasn't it the first in the post George Graham era? Forest weren't half bad either that particular season with Collymore, Bohinen, Stone, Pearce, Woan, etc.

Think it was the day George Graham got sacked. Stewart Houston was in charge the rest of the season. Dark days then. Makes you realise what a blessing Wenger has been. Forest had a great little team back then.

Thoughts on team for tomorrow? I think we should go with this:
    Mannone
    Jenko Kos Verm Gibbs
    Diaby Arteta
    Gervinho Cazorla Podolski
    Giroud

I think Mertasacker has done great so far this year but Koscielny Is better equiped to deal with Aguero and tevez imo. I think Its a tough call between dropping Giroud and playing Gervinho up front with Chamberlain or Walcott on the wing.
