There are no decent pubs in Maynooth with reasonable student prices! If you compare it places like Galway, Sligo, Dundalk etc, where there is brilliant student offers in loads of pubs, some of them over 70% lower than in Maynooth!

In fact just on the town itself, I think it possibly has one of the worst selection of pubs in Ireland! Basically what I'm saying is there is no pub life in Maynooth at all because of the unaffordable prices, and everyone just drinks at home.

At least in Dublin there are cheap places like Diceys and you have massive selection even if its dear. And the SU bar has poor promotions and offers, theres only a crowd in it 4 or 5 times a year for the big nights.

True , though €3 drinks on Mondays in the SU is pretty sweet. However both Caufields and Mantra are in receivership and owned by NAMA . In a student town like Maynooth that shouldn't be happening.

They do random checks at all self service tills.

You would be better off not insulting the local residents, considering they are the people that lecture you, provide you with housing, food and transport.
It's also just a prickish thing to do.

Guys, in future can you report posts that you feel are troll posts/cross the line rather than calling it out on thread. Thanks.

Not really about Maynooth but I really need my grant to come through so I can use the gym..

ughhhh SUSI Y U WANT ME TO BE FAT?!?!

One thing that annoys me about NUIM is the fact that you have to walk the wholeeeeeeeeeeee way across the campus to get from the gym/pool. I usually go the gym and straight to the pool, but because it's so far away i'll probably only go to one or the other.. :L

You need to swipe your student card to get into the gym and the sports halls.
Eh, just a question now, but why are you modding NUIM if you don't go here?

For that you would have to ask Norrdeth :-P
Plenty of college forums have it that way lately. More about your activity on the forum than anything else as youre modding the forum, not the college

I think the college needs some moderators more than the forum.

Where would they fit the flippin' thing?
Also are there any Taco Bells here in IE?
I'd expect a Starbucks first though, but O'Brien's has most of the market (4* in Maynooth)...

    No, that's Bewleys.
The college has three O'Briens, a Costa, Bewleys, Chill, Londis, Phoenix, Pugin and all the coffee machines.
That's a whole lot of coffee.
