I'm wondering if anyone has come across a car stereo headunit that is properly set up for android. I know I can stream music over bluetooth or with an aux in connection, but there are loads of ipod/iphone radios out there that will allow you to control the phone through the stereo and I'm wondering if there is an equivalent android unit? I've come across 1 or 2, but I'm interested to see if anyone else has looked.

Problem with android is that there are such a huge number of handsets from different manufacturers that there is no real cohesion unlike apple.
You can control any Android phone over bluetooth e.g. pause skip. That's all you really need, have a Sony that let's you select music thru the head unit, it's slow and really unintuitive, used it once and never again in 3 years

    Exactly ^^

I'm wondering myself, would there be a car DIN standard Android device??

I got a Chinese/Polish stereo for 30 quids from eBay for my Micra few months ago and it actually works. USB and SD card slots only, can't be expensive to manufacture!

Now I wouldn't mind paying 100eur for Linux/Android option with better interface, built-in 3G/Wifi/bluetooth, 16Gb storage and removable front panel.

Maybe it's the question about privacy.. in case it gets stolen..

Edit: and this is how we rollin back in the 80's..
