I have my fathers old Pioneer SA-706 valve amp but have had a problem with it for the past couple of months. Sound only comes out fully through one speaker the other is barley audible, I have swapped around the speakers to rule them out as the problem. I think the amp just needs a service but I do not know of anywhere in Cork city that would be able to service it, if anyone has any possible solutions or could tell me somewhere that I could bring it that would greatly appreciated.

Try a TV repair shop ? Any worth their salt should be able to repair an amplifier. Is there any sound at all from the bad channel ? If so, is it distorted or just low volume ?What about the headphone output ?

Personally, given it's age and current value, I wouldn't bother though.
