Arsene Wenger laughing (heartily) a fair few times throughout the interview on Sky, haven't seen that for a few years.

Suprised Ramsey hasnt got a start. Hes been impressive coming off the bench. Cant see us losing. A win and were in control of the group from the start and gives us a chance to rest players at a later stage. No injurys and a 1-0 win and Ill be beaming!

Well take that any day of the week - hope Ivory Coast don't qualify for the ACN, Gervinho keeps this form up and improves he is vital.

Funny how Arsenal give a "stuttering" performance & win, yet Real Madrid have 35 shots & its City "unlucky" to lose! #MediaHyprocrisy

    Good tweet that

2 years off after this year I think. It's been coming a while but he's ready to show his worth.

Tottenham supporting mate approached me in work earlier:

Spud: "Wanna know the good news or the bad news first?"
    Me: "Uh... bad news?"
    Spud: "Arsenal conceded a penalty"
    Me: "And the good news?"
    Spud: "Montpellier scored it! :D"
Me: "Who are Spurs playing in the Champions League tonight? Oh wait!"

Good win tonight, not as fluid and nice to watch as previous couple of games but we went to the French champions and won which is great. We showed great character to not worry and just play our way back into the game after the bad start. Podolski and Gervinho looking very good this season, and even Giroud had a good game I felt, won a lot of nice headers and he's great at knocking those headers into the paths of other guys. Cazorla and Diaby have had better games, the former with a few misplaced passes and the latter was guilty of being caught in possession more than once, thats not to say they played particularly badly either. Arteta and the back 4 were very well organised as they have been all season so far. Penalty aside, Vermaelen was solid all night and you can see him and Mert have a nice understanding now. For me the real positive from tonight (aside from the 3 points) was that in a tough second half we only gave the opposition one clear opportunity which luckily they hit straight at Mannone.
We'll need to be better against City but for now it's another nice win.

It's horrible being able to make plans for Thursday nights isn't it?

Gervinho only scored four goals all of last season. He's nearly eclipsed that total already! :D
It's nice to see that other players are capable of moving in and picking up the slack in the absence of our most recent 'one man team'.

I think the real challenge is can our other African forward beat his previous season tally... 1?!?!?

Delighted with the win last night. IMO any win away from home is a good result. Was worrying the way the team faded in the second half tho. Hopefully they were saving themselves for City the weekend.

What has come over Gervinho this season? He has been brilliant. Long may it continue.

I have to say tho, Giroud is starting to worry me. He couldnt hold the ball up at all last night and I thought his head dropped and he looked disinterested. He doesnt seem like he fits with our style of play.

It is early days yet for him tho so hopefully he can adapt. Just look at Gervinho!!

I thought Goroud did alright, aaprt from one time: Late in the second half, Gerv (I think) played a ball to him, in spoace, 18 yards out. Instead of turning and taking it on, he attempted a daft backheel to Podolski (I think).

We got murdered down our left wing last night, Gibbs was frequently outnumbered.

Diaby played well, but tired. He gave the ball away twice in second half, one of them was almost disasterous. However his galloping run in the second half and lay off to Santi reminded me of a young David Hillier.

Pod was top notch, Gerv was good, I thought Santi and Arteta were excellent. The reminded me of Eddie McGoldrick, Jimmy Carter, John Jensen and Steve Morrow respectively.

What was Tony saying? Missed the match meself.

I dunno how happy Adams would have been to join Arsenal even as a first team coach when a man who you could say played second fiddle to him in their playing years was gonna be his boss as the Assistant Manager.

Great win for us last night, performance not so good especially the second half. I thought we looked shot in the second half, very tired looking I wonder was it warm in Montpellier last night. Some of our subs were a bit baffling too, Ramsey on for Giroud??? I would of brought on Walcott and stuck him up top because when Giroud went off we had no outlet up front and we just got as far as the centre circle and had to go sideways or backwards with our passing making it easier for Montpellier easy to push up and close us down quicker and keep the pressure on us.

I would of took Diaby off too as he looked very tired and at one point he looked like getting sent off and very nearly gave away a penalty at the end

Nerve wrecking stuff to watch but a win is a win :D

Happy with the win last night. Obviously the first half performance was a lot better than the second. A win is a win at the end of the day especially away from home in the Champions League, where our record has been extremely poor over the last few seasons.

Giroud wasnt great at all last night but in fairness to the lad I dont think we are playing to his strengths at the moment, but hopefully over time this will improve. Im impressed with Podolski so far, glad that he appears very clinical in front of goal. Shout out to Jenkinson as well, he has improved greatly from when he was thrown in at the deep end at the beginning of last season.

Big test on Sunday now against the champions, if we can keep our shape and solidarity and dont take too many chances in defense like Diaby did last night, then I can see us doing well.

A win is a win yes - and sometimes playing badly and winning is all that counts. But tbh I thought we were really poor last night against a team no better than Villa, WBA or Swansea. We gave away possesion far too easily from the back line and midfield - our fullbacks had time to pass it forward but neither Diaby or Arteta showed quickly enough and so they continually chipped a ball into Giroud or hopefully up the wing to either Podolski or Gervinho. I thought Diaby and Gervinho didn't do enough - the service into Giroud was appalling - how in God's name is the guy going to score if there is no decent crosses or through balls for him to latch onto ? If we don't improve greatly before Sunday I fear we could suffer a backlash for City's defeat to Madrid. We certainly cannot concede that much possesion and expect City not to score.

They're the Champions of France. Admittedly they are having a bad start to the season in the laegue but comparing them to WBA is laughable.

We had a good win last night based entirely on our first half display. What concerned me was how we couldn't hold the ball in the second-half at all and how the team collectively seemed to tire. I wonder if we are behind in our training.
Great to see Gervinho do so well this year so far anyway. I think he will be a big player for us and like other posters I will dread seeing him head off to the ANC if they qualify.
