If I were Dictator of this country

In the last few years we've seen a collapse in the public's faith in the justice system seeing how elites in the boom years bankrupted this country and yet have got away unscathed.

So I keep thinking that a dictatorship could deal with such problems much more effectively...

I for one would stick the heads of the Anglo-Irish board, financial regulator pre-2008, and the successive Fianna Fáil cabinets on O'Connell Bridge as an example to wanton traitors....

Has anyone ever had these megalomaniac thoughts ever?

And what would you do in power????

kill public sector unions, cut the dole, kill all public servents, kill all politicians, make it law to have any woman i want, bring in the death penalty for even petty crime, legalise drugs and that pretty much covers the rest of the replies to this thread, did i miss any? :P

I'd have all you people confined to quarters (work) and cleaning chores 12 hours a day and the slightest grump off any of you would be 3 days in a detention facility without food or water while i spend my time converting the rest of you to alienomics.

Tax the pensions of the politicians and civil servants who presided over the economy during the celtic pyramid at 99%.

Seize all the assets and property of property speculators/banksters who screwed up.

Seize all church property and give it to the victims of clerical abuse.

Tax the wages of anyone who gets paid from the public purse over 80K PA at 70%.

    Burn the bond holders.

    Reduce corporation tax.

    Increase minimum wage.

    Do away with VRT.

Reduce the price of petrol/diesel by 20c per litre.

Missing an opportunity there, you could just put them in stocks and charge people €50 to give them a punch in the face, €30 for a kick up the arse and €10 to spit on them. Can we do this instead of inventing new taxes? You'd get a lot more voluntary compliance.

    I`d introduce...

A one cent tax on texts.

A fifty cent tax on every GB of data downloaded by the home user.

A household tax linked to the total square footage of your windows.

A twenty cent tax on all alcoholic drink on St.Patricks day.

A ten Euro annual tax on all mobile phone / laptop / tablet devices.

A Two Hundred and Twenty Euro tax on silly ****ers who stop at the landing at the top of escalators and refuse to move, even when there is a massive queue building up on the bloody escalator.

I wouldn't mind laying my hands on the chancers involved in this fiasco.

Two years gone by and still no one in jail or any substantial proportion of the money paid back.

Not a "heads on spears" man myself but if you are short handed for a bit of tarring and feathering give me a shout.
Leaving the perpetrators of this outrage without a pot to piss in, would also be highly appropriate.

clean up Dublin, knock down all the 1960 prefab looking buildings like the esb building, get some building going put back in the nice Georgian buildings where they were knocked.

For derelict buildings I would serve all the owners a "use it or lose it" notice.

Zero tolerance on beggars and junkies in the city.

    - Ban of all motorized traffic on the way, that I'm using into work and back
    - Night curfews for minors
    - Make it compulsory to support Shels and to go to Tolka Park at least very second match with a minimum spend of 10 Euro in the Bar

Proscribe the Roman church, FF and FG.
    Burn the bond holders.

I'm with you on that so long as you are talking literally. :pac:

All of the banking system fraudsters could easily be dealt with without a dictatorship, if our current government had any f***ing balls.
If it wasn't illegal, MAKE IT ILLEGAL. Draft NEW legislation to make sure nobody can ever get away with that golden circle crap again.

The controllers are all involved so why would they draft new legislation that would hurt them ?.

Make sex education a compulsory leaving cert subject. I'd see how that goes for about 2 years, then I'd bring in a practical exam.

No good in bed == no place in college. That'll learn em.

they won't do that because they are themselves probably in the midst of one this very minute.
