225 pounds to ireland for the basic on Amazon UK...more along the right lines! :P
    and, 264 pounds for premium:

£285 for the premium and £250 for basic there now...would have had to be in quick with that preorder. 350euro for premium over on .de, with most games 70euro. Not attractive pricing.

Edit: Actually, they're still mucking about with the prices, Premium listed as unavailable now, will be a few days yet before we know for sure I'd say.

The Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2 and MonsterHunter 3 Ultimate. Must say the WiiU is off to a great start, better than Wii and 3DS by a country mile:D

    TANK! TANK! TANK!™

So far, the only exclusive (excluding its arcade version) I'm curious in.

The tech-demo does't seem to hint at any online mode though, which is probably where this game'd yield the most fruit.

There's a four-player set-up of the arcade version in Star Amusements in Bray, if anyone wants to preview it, or has a hankering for its predecessor, Tokyo Wars.

Have any retailers given a price yet?
Americans are being charged 300/350 right?
I expect the usual 1=1 conversion rate, but NoE are too chicken to give an RRP.

    UK is prices are
    8GB model £210
    32GB Model £250
    Extra controller £104

So I would expect Euro prices of €259, €299 and €125 ish

    Extra controller £104

    Wow.

I can't see myself getting a Wii U at launch but I will more than likely get one at some stage in 2013.

That's for the extra "touch screen" controller i'm thinking the other ones will be around the 40 mark and Wii remotes work as a stop gap.

Hopefully a 3DS (perhaps with CPP support) will be able to act as a second controller?

Don't know that there'll be many games utilising a two tablet set-up anyhow.

Only watched the European Direct now. I was impressed. If they had put on a show like that at E3 they would've stole the show.

That Nano Assault Neo reminds me of gameplay I've seen of Super Stardust HD.

Also nice impressions of Dirty Harry and Ahnuld in Lego City Undercover. :)

One thing I did notice though: No mention of the NFC capabilities again. Maybe closer to launch

Jaziz lads that Black Ops 2 part of the yank presentation was fekin rapid!
Playing the game entirely on the U-Pad? I'll buy that for a dollah.
Playing on it while player two plays with the wiimote-nunchuk/pro controller on the TV while both of yiz playing online against other peeps? I'll buy that for long time dollah!

Getting annoyed now that I won't really be able to afford it 'til maybe xmas :(

...but I want me some blopsU...

ZombiU still looked good and the new trailer for Assassins Creed 3 looked pretty good too. 2d Mario can suck my goombas until he come back in a successor to N64/3dLand type Mario. A lot of the other stuff has piqued a whole load of my interest; said no smokingman ever....I really don't care for much else I've seen so far.

Now that I've got some confidence that my first person shooter urges might be met, I need a good driving sim....where's that "Project Cars" game when you need some recent WiiU footage of it after it was announced it was coming to the platform?

There is a report on Kotaku about how the transfer of data from your Wii to the Wii U will work. Basically you need both machines connected to the internet and an SD card in the Wii U.

Sounds straight forward enough. I wonder though will Nintendo push out a firmware update for the Wii to enable the transfer. Considering how many Wii's have been soft-modded it would upset a lot of people I'd say.

I really cannot decide whether to get one now. On the one hand, I know the games I want will be coming, and I'm sure there'll be at least one thing I'd be interested in for launch, but on the other hand, I thought that about the 3DS. Think I'l wait for prices.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,120 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

I'll be all over the premium, and I want NSMB U, ZombiU, Rayman Legends. Won't get all of those at launch, but we'll see...
From the launch 'window' I want 007 Legends and AC III.
Holding off on getting AC III until the Wii U version is out too will be really hard...

If there is a launch party or midnight launch, then it's a big yes from me. Wouldn't be playing until Christmas, but it's best to pick it up early.

So what is the story with the prices for Ireland?
I see on Amazon for the premium package its £349, on Zavvi they have it down as €400.02 or so, so will that work out to something insane like €499 here with a game?

I really want one, but again, the only thing on my mind is that, lego city is coming out on the wiiu but also on the 3DS, MHU is coming for the Wiiu and the 3DS too.

Do I actually need a WiiU?

ZombiU looks deadly! MarioU, not so sure still, love Nintendo Land, Bayonatta looks ok, couldnt get into the first one. RaymanL looks good. ACIII, yeah not too bothered.

    It needs RE6 I think.

Amazon showing £299 now for the premium package

The best value one on amazon would be the ZombiU bundle since, according to the listing, you get everything in the premium bundle, including Nintendoland plus ZombiU plus a Pro Controller. All for £329.

Will also wait for the price war and matching to begin like the 3DS. If it drops below £200 for the premium or at most £250 for the ZombiU bundle, I'll get one at launch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,120 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

Does anyone know what Amazon are like for delivering consoles? Would it be delivered for launch, or just dispatched then?

So I read about Nintendo's TVii functions on this link:

    http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-33199_7-57512253-221/nintendo-tvii-tries-to-succeed-where-google-tv-has-failed/

How do you guys think this would work over here? Would it be a flyer at all?

Actually it seems that ZombiU and the controller are instead of Nintendoland.

Still decent value. So ZombiU replaces Nintendoland and the controller is free? Or am I wrong?
Sorry, can't access that site from work. Wonder why work would block sites that could limit my productivity. :)

Netflix, RTE Player and youtube maybe, but think that would be it. Unless they convince Sky to let them in on the Sky Plus
